  1. Terrific show with boatloads of potential. It would be great to supplement the talking heads with some visual aids such as videos of play examples, stat tables, formation/play diagrams, etc.

  2. TEXAS will have X, AD, Ja'Tavion, JWhitt, and CJ4 / JBrooks / KRob / JBlue on the field at one time, assuming they don't sub in Johntay, Neyor, or Ryan Niblett for a RB. SARK will have X and AD switching rolls back and forth to get guys open. COVER THAT bama! LOL; no way. 31-20 TEXAS OFFENSE stays on the field ALL GAME. HOOK'EM!

  3. That second visual that Ian got X off the line is exactly what i got to run as a sophmore in our 2 minute offense. Ol' 56. That rail on the backside is always open, especially if you have a 50/50 threat that can run and threaten that saftey on the boundary, and the crossing of receivers screws corners up everytime! They suck at communication and passing guys off more times than not!! EXCELLENT IDEA TO PUT THESE 2 TOGETHER!!! 🤘🏿🔥🔥🔥

  4. Rod. You are a credit to this University on several levels. “On3” hired a huge asset here. And clearly Bobby knows that. Well done and coming here to”nerd out” on college football theory is something next level as far as content goes. A pleasure gentlemen

  5. Love this show, the hosts, the goals to help us, and esp accompanying graphics. Two friendly suggestions: 1. Consider a 101 base primer show that you can link and reference in the show notes for all future shows that covers the basics for our base understanding and then you will not have to repeat yourself for those of us who are slow. 2. Perhaps slow down a bit between major points for us newbie technicians until we can rise to your level. Keep the bar high but just pace a bit slower to let your points sink in before moving ont the next. Cannot wait to see more. We will increase our understanding and also become better fans for this show.

  7. Great show gents. I haven't seen an interracial collab this great since Nelly and Tim McGraw did Over and Over in 2004.

Question: Rod, you and guys like Stevie Lee played in the early 2000s, and yall had a lot of success, and Texas would routinely lose only 1 to 2 games in conference from 98-2004. We finished as an AP top 10 team in a number of those seasons, so my question is, what was it that put Texas over the hump to go undefeated and win it all in 05? Was it simply having a returning vet in VY, was it Mack Brown being more seasoned as a coach, or something else? I would presume that Texas' rosters from 98-2004 was littered with talent, so what put them over to win the championship in 05 as opposed to those other seasons? Was the talent in 05 just that much better than years prior outside of Vince?

Since we had a lot of talented teams in the early 2000s – before the 05 season, and teams that finished the year in the top ten, is it pretty unrealistic to expect Texas to be a playoff team, or a fringe playoff team this year after not having nearly the amount of success leading up to this season as we did from 98-2004?

    Thanks and hook em!

  8. Rod and Ian, you two are dynamic! Thanks for bringing us such a deep analysis. Appreciate the focus of the episode, and look forward to future editions. May I suggest a Football Theory episode on forcing turnovers? I'm dreaming of the days when Derrick Johnson was punching for the ball on nearly every tackle. What will it take to get back to that level?
