First!
Good luck with your fleet, TIJAYFLY!
Side note, it is ironic that the channel logo for fix my fleet is of an Eclipse, but it is not a ship you recommend to buy out of game.
Instead the channel logo should be an Endeavor.
I wish Execute would let Algared finish his thoughts.
With the F8, emotional attachments to ships are a valid reason that makes em worth it. I’m keeping my Vulture for the same reason.
That being said, I don’t really like the inclusion of the BMM, even tho I can objectively not argue against it, it’s just that good.
o7 … I love these episodes
If you love the F8C then definitely keep it! I personally like the Polaris, BMM, and Genesis so I’m 💯 with the inforunners on those ships. The only one I go back and forth with is the reclaimer, if salvage is a priority for you then no question, for me it’s a distant 4th and I’m planning on getting a medium salvage ship when we see it.
Crew?
I’m guessing they currently do not have a copy of squadron 42? Was there any discussion about getting that at release and earning the F8through there therefore using the credits for something else?
Awesome content!
I advise against going all in for big ships. An even split between soloable and multicrew-required ships seems optimal, because friends and org-mates aren't always available, and even when they are you might not be in the mood to command or be commanded.
My solution would be to keep the Vulture rather than upgrading to the Reclaimer. Hold off on melting that F8C as long as possible, but ultimately ultimately let it go as soon as you need the credits: it's an earn-in-game toy.
Nice to see a smaller fleet considered, but upsizing isn't always the answer.
Everyone bought ships and not just you should be on a shirt. Love that quote.
Thanks for everything Inforuners, and thanks also to anyone who comments below – I'll read them all and respond to some for sure 🙂
I'm now the proud owner of a Polaris, and still intending to pick up that BMM too.
My voice was rough as I had a minor flu in the days before recording, so please excuse the huskiness!
anyone know how the pirate gladiator works? it is just an unlock and now can get one anytime he wants or will he have to earn it each time he wants to buy it? thinking maybe he want to putz around in it later maybe?
I have also and F8C and every day i find myself thinking in melting it…. my plan is to have 1 fighter, being it small, medium or heavy……
Thinking of Warden, San'tokÝay, F8C, Hornets…..
The warden gets points for being a home, you can live in it, all the others you just have your seat….. The San'tok´Yay is cool but kinda garbage performance right now, but we know its not finished, Hornets are good in many points, but… its just a hornet….. F8C is the best fighter right now for general combat, not the PVP meta thou.
For now i have a San'tok and the F8C… waiting on Master Modes to see what changes, and with 3.23 maybe the flight model of the San"tok gets finished.
For the "fleet" i do agree with the earning down idea, i do not agree with the BMM, you will in no way operate that thing solo or easily, too big for solo ownership for me, i believe its for a team effort, org ship. If i do not have commitment of others to play regularly with me, i would not have one.
Change and mm are not the same thibg… people aren't against the change its the drop off of skill counting that's the issue.
How does someone get on "fix my fleet"
As far as the fleet goes, I think the Reclaimer, BMM and Polaris are spot on.
The Genesis Starliner and F8C are questionable to me, as they are both in a region where a BMM CCU would have given a massive jump towards something else and neither IMO have that much going for them gameplay wise.
The Genesis IMO is "Spirit E1 but bigger", meaning you scale up the profits but also the hassle with "big ship problems", but the gameplay itself isn't much different.
The F8C is very expensive for what it is, but a even bigger issue IMO is that it has no interior or storage, limiting it's usability as daily driver.
Ships I would consider:
1. Perseus.
I think it's in a weird spot, because it's bound to be the losing ship in comparsion to the Polaris, which marks the next step up and also goes from large to capital.
However, it is also (IMO) the most decked out large ship possible, knowing it would still not have the components to stand against the Polaris.
It has S7 guns, it has 2 Turrets with 2 each and 2 automated Turrets with 2 S3 Weapons each, which very well known. What's often overlooked however, is that it also has two Torpedo Racks for a total of 20 S5 Torpedos
It's also able to transport a Ursa as well as some cargo, making it viable for Bunker runs and the like.
2. Orion.
It's more difficult to obtain via BMM CCU now, but there might still be viable CCUs out there.
It's speculation, but I'm very certain it's going to not only increase in price but also has a high chance of becoming a limited ship similar to the 890.
I don't think CIG is going to make a mining ship above it, because it's already well into capital terretory and a even bigger ship would carry a insane price, yet struggle to find buyers thanks to the Orion already existing.
3. Odyssey.
I guess that one might be controvercial, as it never became the "Carrack Killer".
However, it is still a capital exploration ship with capital size components, making it a massive stat-stick.
For example, one of the 890J's shields is equivalent to 7 high quality large shields. CIG also stated multiple times, that even the strongest "large" armor would be weaker than the weakest "capital" armor. Weither or not this holds true is anyone's guess, but I would expect smaller ships to struggle taking down capital ships at some point.
The usefulness of it's mine to refuel gimmick might be questionable, but I would not put it past CIG to turn fuel into massive money sinks.
While not spectacular, it does have 3 Turrets with 2 S5 Weapons each, two of those turrets are on the front/top relatively close together.
It should be noted that all 3 mentioned with the idea of being able to obtain them at reasonable prices thanks to CCU, in which case each could be around the price of a Warbond F8C.
I normally wouldn't suggest getting a Perseus AND a Polaris, but in the context of having a F8C turned into a Perseus things look different IMO.
Nice to see you doing a small fleet. I enjoy seeing the huge fleets some people have, but this is more realistic for most people I think.
Great work.
5 mins for me too; I feel bmm or genesis should go to save money , where the f8 every wipe having something to do single craft fighting is more valuable than money
I am really surprised that we don't see an endeavor in this fleet. Anyway.
I will say that I don't know if the Connie or Genesis are strong replacements for the daily driver. I would have gone with the E1 Spirit just on the account that you get an A1 or a C1 anyway as a loaner and it probably has a very similar flight mechanic to what he's experiencing.
With the vulture in particular, something I've recently found is that I am taking out the reclaimer less and less and less now. Even though I can earn more money being able to only spawn it in certain places. And one big disaster can derail 30 to 40 minutes of preparation. I'll always keep a reclaimer in my fleet for now, but I don't know how much longer it's going to be a part of what I do. I think this game is showing us that the more big ships we have the less likely they are to work properly and if they are undercrewed
F8 is a must keep, the Heartseeker is a very good ship, that should been kept aswell, what I been doing lately is getting all the other F7-series with ingame currency, and then I can modify my Superhornet / Heartseeker with the different modules from the other F7C. Like the superhorbet heartseeker can also transport a passenger. If I want a reclaimer or eggs, I just load my F7c with ballistic and take a ERT , it has just enough ammo to kill the main target or its support group so I can loot and steal the surviving ships. I am using store credits to stockpile the standard version before price hike ^^ Maybe it will be fun to play with , like go around killing other F7C and then loot their parts to upgrade my crappy one
Idea: Fix My Fleet – Where Are They Now, where you follow up on people you've advised to see what they actually did. Every piece of advice taken scored them +1 and advice ignored is -1. Anyone who ends with a negative score gets dropped in a large pool containing sharks and has to swim for their lives.
I don't really like the F8C, but if we see higher ammo counts for ballistics that could change. I melted mine and started flying the hawk, I know it's not the same at all, but the hawk is so snappy and fun to fly and you could have 3 for the price of the F8C.
