This movie is a hidden slasher gem. The idea of a killer Santa Clause is terrifying and they make use of it. The characters are a range of strange to creepy. The kills are violent and brutal. The atmosphere is eerie and off-putting leaving you uneasy. The Christmas theme is used very well and turned on its head.

I bought this on VHS when it came out. m/ I remember some hooters and some deer antlers combined in some strange fashion.
3:53 scandalous 👍🏼
fun reaction
Naughty
Man, I ain’t ever seen ANYONE react to this! You are the bomb! This movie gave me nightmares as a child! 😂
Little brother said NAUGHTY.
There is an old episode of Tales From the Crypt called "And All Through the House" which is one of the scariest Christmas things I've seen.
"PUNISH!"
Fun Fact: This film was known as "Slayride" throughout its production. Tri-Star change the title at the last minute.
Weak Stomach Fact: Many of the kill scenes were directed by editor Michael Spence, due to director Charles E. Sellier Jr. being uncomfortable with handling the gore-heavy parts of the film.
Location Location Fact: Much of this movie is filmed in Heber City, Utah. The city has changed a lot since then but the toy store is still there. It has been a dance studio, hardware store and now a gym.
This and A Christmas Story, my true tradition every year. Billy's life is so traumatic it somehow becomes a comedy lol.
And you know what Santa does on Christmas don't you? Come on don't ask him like that
FYI if you decide to see the 2nd one, half of it is nothing but flashbacks to this one lol
Uh oh! Girl you forgot to edit out a boobie! 😛
14:20 the same guy who plays the shock jock in Halloween 6
Every Christmas it's mandatory for me to watch 3 horror movies and they are Christmas Evil, Black Christmas, and Silent Night Deadly Night!, Saw this one when I was a kid in the 80's and it freaked me out but later on it became one of my favourites.
Mother Superior not dying is the BS or all BS. She was the real villain
Hi there
Next movie: "GARBAGE DAY!!!!"
Love this movie. So cheesy. And the only slasher movie killer who is actually a hot dude for some reason. That “Warm Side of the Doo-hoor” is pure 80s cheese. Don’t bother with any of the sequels, but the remake called “Silent Night”’is actually okay.
12:54 The Great Mouse Detective reference 🙂👍🏼
Nuns are evil, Mother Superior is typical.
This is one I don't see getting talked about enough. It's a good slasher, but I think it's also a great example of what I call "a Horror tragedy." Basically, a horror movie that borders on being also a drama movie because it's also a tragedy. It's just about an innocent guy who gets torn down and turned into a monster. All because he has trauma that's not being treated and gets abused by those raising him. Such a sad story. Great reaction as usual.
If I can recommend something similar to this, I recommend Christmas Evil, if that's OKay? It's a slasher movie that's also a psychological character study of a disturbed, mentally unwell man who slowly sort of fetishizes Santa Claus and thinks he's becoming Santa Claus. I know it's the favorite Christmas movie of John Waters, the same guy who directed Serial Mom. Waters has referred to the main character Harry, as "a guy preparing for a sex-change operation, only instead of changing gender, he's changing into Santa Claus." It's highly recommended.
I also love the Great Mouse Detective shout-out. That's in my top 3 Disney films alongside The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Pinocchio.
Another in a long line of 80's Slasher Horror. And once again we see Linnea Quigley who got a lot of work and a lot of fans in the 80's because she was just one of a few actresses who were willing to work topless in these lower budget movies. But her most famous role was as Trash in RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD. For some odd reason people who aren't fans of Horror seem to remember this movie. I've suggested before ( I do this with a lot of YOUTUBE channels ) but you need to watch WAXWORK ( 1987) it brillant and it will you knowledge of Horror movies to the max.
Can you do Roger cormans raptor from 2001
First the great mouse Detective reference, 😚👌🏻 loved. And you watch all the classics! So awesome!
Idk if you've seen it but if not you have to watch "Deadly Games" (aka 3615 code Père Noël) it's a French Home Alone Horror.
Hey Original Psycho Op,I thought you said you would have Doctor Sleep(2019)up in November.I'm just curious.
The topless girl that got impaled by the antlers was linnea quigley, you might remember her from return of the living dead. She was topless in that movie too. Now that I think about it, I can't remember any linnea quigley movies where she isn't topless.
When this premiered in , 1984. The rage from parents and protest 🪧 , of the Film 📽️🎥, portraying a sadistic gorier downright killer Santa, they weren't having it. Some even called to 💣 the Theater 😹🎭, yes crazy thanks 💯 classic.
Siskel and Ebert put this movie on their list of the worst movies of 1984. I enjoyed watching the movie with you and I loved your reaction ❤️!
Most sympathetic slasher villain ever. He tried so hard not to have a psychotic breakdown, but they made him wear the Santa suit.
Billy may of killed people but he's a victim to. Because it only happened because of the Mother Superiors actions because instead of. Helping him with actual therapy to get over his trauma. Like the other nun wanted to do the Mother Superior reinforced it because he seen. Santa Claus quote punished his parents for saying things about his elderly grandfather. Then she just punished him in oder to get over his trauma. So all she did was basically reinforce that Santa punishes naughty people but he seen Santa punish his parents by killing them. So to him punish means kill so he eventually snapped and became. The Santa that he knew of that punishes people by killing them. So the real villain in the movie was Mother Superior she basically made Billy into a ticking time bomb. Now if she listened to the other nun an actually got Billy help with his traumatic experience with Santa. He never would have snapped an went on a killing spree.
This was the very first horror movie I ever saw (I was a few years old). Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I enjoyed this movie and I'm definitely a fan of this it was awesome!
