  1. Also remember Mike Flannagan has another new horror series hitting Netflix in about 2 weeks. Midnight Club. (It has nothing to do with Midnight Mass.) Midnight Club should be terrifying if it's anything likes its source material. The show centers around the entire written works of Christopher Pike, a YA author from around the RL Stine era. Pike's writing is kind of right in-between Stine and Stephen King.

  2. I loooove that you showed Marc the car scene hahaha, the poor guy 😂can't wait to see what you think of the ending! I've had so much fun watching your reactions to this series.
Bly Manor is def worth a watch, based on how much you've enjoyed Hill House I think you'll dig it 😀

  3. also connecting the shining with hill house might not be coincidental. flanagan directed dr. sleep, the shining sequel. an impossible task to follow up such an iconic film, but he did it imo. it might not reach the same cultural status as the shining, but it is very good

  4. Your reaction videos of the Haunting of Hillhouse made me binge watch the series all over again. Even though I knew everything that was coming I still enjoyed it very much the second time around. Even the big jump scare still got me even though I knew it was coming. LOL! All signs of a most excellently good ghost story. So good that I think it's a sort of a series worth watching over and over again. 👍

  5. Great reaction, I'm really glad I found your channel and look forward to the finale! Off to watch your reaction to Midnight Mass and really hope you don't wait to watch Bly Manor, it's also so good!

  6. People's hints kinda ruin the experience, I definitely consider it a spoiler to tell you a jump scare is coming, instead of just letting it come…I'd ignore comments more. I had no idea it was coming and my God is it good lol

  7. These two episodes are so good because the pieces start falling into place and you can almost make out the big picture. Along with the incredible script/acting/jump scare! Poppy, IMHO, is the face that appeared behind Nell in bed in the first episode. She was also opening the doors to the kids' rooms. She had killed her own children and has found new children to also help wake-up. Poppy never blinks her eyes, a callback to how the young boy's dead grandmother didn't blink her eyes early in the series. The clock/repairman symbolize the house altering time as well as space. You can hear it when Liv walks past and also when adult Nell hovers over young Nell when she is sleeping on the couch. Abigale is a character from the original book, she is the older of the two Crane sisters. She dies a natural death in the house but her home/health assistant hangs herself from the staircase. The story about making it rain rocks is from the book as is the bedrooms being referred to by color. One more to go!!!

  8. These two are probably my favorite episodes. I love that comment about making it rain rocks because the young girl in Rose Red that has psychic powers does the same thing when she is upset or scared.
Oh no… I can't believe you did that to poor Marc!!! 😉 The worst part about that is that it gave me the best lol moment that I have had all month. I am sorry Marc but I couldn't stop myself from laughing!!! No disrespect intended of course.
Awesome reaction as always David. Two thumbs up!!! 😍

  9. I was so excited for you to see the jump scare. I didn’t say anything just so it would come naturally. Everyone jumps. I’ve watched this show so many times and I know it’s come and I still jump.

  10. Your jump scare reaction was great, but I swear, I literally spit my drink out while watching Marc’s reaction! That was cold! How could you do that to him?! Poor thing!😂 I’m still laughing about it though!! 🤣

  11. Holly Molly David! I had forgotten the scene in the car among the sisters and I jumped out cussing 😂 when you showed Marc I had to take off my earphones and then a bit later boom you made it pop, out of the blue again 😂 Really can’t wait for you to finish it! Such a great and allegorical series,(I’ll tell you why as soon as you finish the last episode) it’ll always be among my favs, if not my No1 of this kind. Great great reaction!!

  12. DAVID! you’re such an ass with poor Marc and that Nell scene 🤣😅🥲 I couldn’t stop laughing hahaha #sorrymarc
I just can’t wait for you to watch Bly Manor!!! This haunting house series is so great, I can’t wait for season 3, they’re focusing on a story by Edgar Allan Poe next. However, Haunting of Hill House is based on a book that I think answers a lot of your questions, the writers of this show obviously changed up a few details, but the concept is the same.
Personally, I think this series was based on mental health, grief (processes), and maybe a little bit of paranormal.
