Back to the back catalogue, after a few weeks of live recordings. I thought I had uploaded all my CD songs, either from my albums or the session safety discs, but I recently found a further CD titled ‘The Devil & Anne _ _ _’*.
It’s a 7-track album, made in 2001, and then lost at some point. Nothing unusual in that particularily; even now, wracked with MND, if you are following my channel you will have noted that the songs still come faster than one could utilise them.
But a curiosity of this disc is that, not only did I not know of the existence of the the CD, but none of the song titles appear in my copyright files, and none of the lyrics to these 7 songs are in my lyric files. Why that should be, I have no idea. There are also no session tapes or outtake CDs, so it may be I did not record it at my home studio.
The piece itself seems to be something of a ‘Blood On The Tracks’-esque work, detailing the derailing of a relationship.
This song is the closing number on the album, and sounds like it. Actually, it’s a rarity for my albums, I seldom end on a ‘downer’. On ‘ver net’ it doesn’t really matter, since it’s all individual pieces, but if I had to do it over on CD, I would realign all the tracks, make this the penultimate one and then end on ‘It Sure Felt Like Love’.
As ever, I apologise for both the sound deficiencies, and the ‘video’. I can only record these ‘off-air’ (out of the stereo into a videocamera) as YT don’t allow me to upload the audio in its current format (and I thought VHS and Beta had put an end to all that nonsense), and it’s damn awful, you can’t even HEAR the piano. And the ‘video’, well, that is whatever I can put on the TV. (I had hoped to circumvent all this bollocks by starting a Blogger, er, blog, but they don’t allow me to upload my stuff in ANY format… no room at the technology inn).
Light and peace,
Paul M

* As I have to make a songbook for this set of songs, I have changed the title of the work to “Anno Domini”; if fate has mercy, the songbook will be available early March.

Whilst here, though, if I may be so bold – I have several of my books still in print available on Am of the Zon, titles below. I mention it not for me, but for my most amazing children, who get any and all royalties when they reach 16. I won’t live to see that day, and believe me – BELIEVE ME – they will be most grateful to you.
