  1. One of the BEST trio rock bands of the 70's. They were the rock fans favorite live shows at the time. I saw them several times years ago and met the lead singer behind the scene a few times and he was a real gentleman and actually listened to what you said. Sadly, the band kicked the lead singer out of the band ( bad choice) now they are more like a cover band of Grand Funk. There is ONE Mark Farner, you can't replace him. Just like when Journey let Steve Perry go, no one could step in his position. They tried, still not the same Journey. Funny side note is they are still NOT in the RRHOF. They will not listen to their loyal fans.

  2. I stopped by on my way leaving, thinking, I relate to BJ but can’t get with Asia. But then Grand Funk starts and Asia surprises me that she’s getting into it, and I’m thinking, OK …. $

I was in high school, going to concerts in Los Angeles metro area when GFR started charting, releasing albums, opening national tours and eventually headlining. I saw them twice at the Forum, first time with Ten Years After and the local yet charted Pacific Gas and Electric. Rolling Stone Magazine wasn’t keen on Grand Funk back then, but RS didn’t like anybody or so it seemed (Led Zeppelin, Sticky Fingers). This is my favorite GFR track. Today, YouTube offers some great live performances from 1960s and 1970s from Europe with good production. It’s fun to relive US TV from those days, but the production/recordings often suffer and lip-synching abounds.

  3. I loved this band ever since I was a young boy. It was amazing to see all that great music come from just 3 guys. I could never get tire of listening to them. I enjoy watching you tripping out with amazement to them performing. I also enjoy watching both of you reacting to the movies. I always the reactions on my Xbox but I couldn't subscribe or hit the Like button unless I sign up to YT. I had personal reasons why I didn't want to do it. Every Time I watched you're reactions and could not click Like or make any suggestions, I got aggravated. I finally had enough and sign into YT on my PC. I can now subscribe hit the Like & bell buttons. I also will go back to the reactions that I already watch click the Subscribe, Like and Bell buttons. Also leave my request.

  4. It's been said too many times and it's still true. That without autotune, computers, beat boxes, and the real work that into music way back in the 2oth century, that most artists today would have been chewed up and spit out never to be heard from again. Asia mentioned how organic the music is, that it gave her goosebumps. Who was the last artist to do that in modern times. Take a Look at Rolling Stone, Billboard, or Jet magazines from the 5o's to the 2ooo's and read the top 2o songs. Compare the groups and music. And come to your own conclusion. Music now is stale, lazy, and lacks organic quality or real creativity. And I'll stand by that.
For more Grand Funk Railroad try these tracks, FOOTSTOMPIN' MUSIC, SHI ING ON, and I'M YOUR CAPTAIN/CLOSER TO YOUR DOOR.
For a another great live jam, try Johnny and Edgar Winter playing like mad Men on the song TABACCO ROAD. Guaranteed to blow your minds !!!
    Enjoy.
