  1. This was perfect timing! I finished work, saw your new video, and had to watch immediately. 😃 It's wild how much news there's always to cover in every episode!!

A lot of exciting things going on, but I think you know what I'm excited about the most … 👀
ILLBORN!!!! 😂 I can't wait to order this beautiful edition next week 🤩

  2. I will not be reading anything by Rothfuss until Doors of Stone comes out. No thanks. I also couldn’t even get through 3 episodes of the WoT travesty “TV show.” Unless everyone involved with that season is gone and they bring in people who actually respect the source material, I will not be watching that trash.

  3. On this video I'm super excited for Empire the Damned I loved Empire the vampire awesome book next I don't know man about best served cold that's another awesome book getting a movie adaptation day at least got a badass director Tim Miller but the way Hollywood is doing movies these days running them with their woke agendas I'm just hoping that they don't ruin it hopefully Joe Abercrombie is very much involved in the process and I got me a copy Thieves and Shadows had on pre-order it looks like a big big world the map looks amazing keep making great videos I'll keep watching

  4. Yes didnt Joe himself tweet that everyone must just wait and see what happens regarding the film. I remember back in the day reading about Naomi Noviks Tremaire series being linked with Peter Jackson, unfortunately nothing happened 😥 . While reading Best Served Cold I was thinking to myself it would make a good Quentin Tarantino film, a certain film of his in particular comes to mind.

  5. I need to stop buying more books than I can read but that TBB Illborn looks gorgeous and I watched your interview with the author and liked how genuine and passionate he was. I'm not sure I'll like the book based on the reviews but it will be really difficult to resist purchasing it. 😬

  6. So many good books, as I always say watching this segment costs me lots of money, and my TBR gets longer and longer.
I am somewhat sad about the Stormlight until 2025, many who are getting older, may not see the end of the series. With the delay of the Navigator's Children, I would hope they can get a better cover illustration, LOL. My Of Blood and Fire finally reached me several days ago. It's beautiful. Illborn looks so nice.

  7. Very excited about a Best Served Cold adaptation. I would prefer a four to six episode limited series over a movie, but I'll take it! Also hope they do get Rebecca Ferguson in the lead role. She's lowkey one of the best actresses in the world right now.

  8. Perfect timing Petrik. Tomorrow is payday so I might preorder some of these beauties. For "The Warrior of the Wind" I'll wait for the Goldsboro SE. I am keeping my fingers crossed for TBB to have "The Broken Earth" trillogy in their subscription. Thank you far all the awesome news!

  9. OH man, more adaptations? I am in a predicament! I am constantly struggling to read stuff before the adaptation is fully out! Currently I am reading the silo trilogy, so I can watch the tv series after. That is easy though. The first law world is 10 books long, and I only have the first 3 (ordered at least)
I am wondering, are all 10 books worth reading, and if yes, are they ALL connected to one another? Because if yes, I will HAVE to read all of them in a row… Which means major expenses in my near future!
PS: Thanks for these videos Petrik!

  10. That's an interesting place to start with First Law, seems like it could be aimed at current fans more than new ones but we will have to see, I will set my hype nice and low till I see some trailers.
Eye of the World book looks great, shame about the contents! Not watching Wheel of Time season 2, season 1 was so bad I'm amazed it didn't get axed right away. I am interested to see how they will bring Matt back with the new actor though. I might have said this already, but I really want Rand to see him, run over and hug him, hold him at arm's length and say "Look at you Matt…" then cut to Rand looking directly down the camera "I hardly recognized you!". IF they do that I will watch that episode and rate it 5 stars, but hopefully this is the last season. Still haven't seen anything solid about the recasting.

As for Pat's book, I'm not too upset about the promised chapter, I think he said something that at the end of the day was out of his hands to deliver and that sucks but if he can't do it then he can't. We got the Prologue and that kick ass balling the paper up and throwing it over his shoulder clip. I just hope this new book gets him in a good mental place and builds some momentum towards more writing and hopefully more books. It would be nice if he would say sorry and hold his hands up, I think that would smooth things out at least a little but if that doesn't happen in the next couple of weeks it probably isn't going to.

Got my Art of Prophecy book from TBB today, need to actually read these books I'm buying one day, I'm also only about 5 or 6 books from needing a new bookshelf again! Love the videos, keep up the great work! They make me poor but I will have lots of cool books to read for many years thanks to the Spotlight series

  11. Petrik. So, I have the will of the many on order. Other than that, I’m thinking about getting the broken binding illborn book and the gods of the wyrdwood. Are there any other current, new, upcoming series your recommend starting to keep up with. I just finished the first stormlight archive book, way of kings, Ill gradually read the next books as we wait for the fifth. I am currently reading book #4 of Malazan series, finishing up lonesome Dove, and have the first law trilogy in que. Next, I think I will read the will of the many and of ice and fire by Ryan Cahill. I also want to one day read the dandelion dynasty and the green bone saga. And the real of the elderlings interest me as well….. and the faithful and the fállen series… wow so much to do. So many books to catch up on or start. I discovered fantasy reading later in life. Loaded question. But.. yeah.

  13. I dont care about the Rothfuss thing anymore. Ive moved on from him and his issues. if it was as simple as his mental health issues he'd get more slack but for someone who said all three books were finished then said oops no theyre not while being healthy enough to do a hundred other things like conventions and podcasts and comics, the charity debacle and the lies etc im just done even if he finishes it I wont buy it.

  14. Great SFF spotlight video as usual.
Happy that Sanderson is taking his time with Stormlight 5. I was underwhelmed with OB and RoW and I want to get the high of WoK again. So really hope your wish of this being the best Stormlight book comes true!

Makes sense to delay The Last King of Osten Ard readalong until 2024, there are lot of factions etc.
I hope Tad Williams concludes the series well.

Oh the air quotes hurt (though it's true) 😄. I'm still going to read it because I'm a Kingkiller fan but yeah, would have preferred an Elodin or Devi novella. 🤭

I really liked Winnowing Flame – do you think Talonsister will be as good? Fingers crossed.

  15. I just finished BSC a week ago so this announcement couldn't come at a better time! The fact that Abercrombie is writing the script gives me HIGH hopes, fingers crossed everything will go smoothly and we can adore all those amazing characters on screen before too long!
Also very excited about Empire of the Damned, is it 2024 already?!
And those are some very intriguing new releases, my TBR is suffering but I don't even care anymore at this point hahah.
    Thanks for sharing!! :)))
