Finland Has Officially Joined NATO, What's Next?

Today, we talk about Finland officially joining NATO, or the Northern Atlantic Treaty Organization. For months now, the country of Finland has been attempting to join the alliance, but due to disagreements with NATO members, the process has been delayed. That is until April 4th, though. Finland officially joined NATO on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023. With the country now joining the military alliance, the strength of NATO has significantly been bolstered. Finland first applied for NATO when Russia began its invasion of Ukraine. Alongside Finland, Sweden also applied to join the alliance but has had more setbacks than Finland has, delaying its membership process even more. But since Finland is now a member of NATO, what happens next? Could this escalate tensions between NATO and Russia? Could it lead to war? How will the world react? 1. Nothing happens. Russia says it will fortify their northwestern border, but it will probably be more words than deeds. Finland continues to live normally while Russian conscripts and equipment continue to be trashed to pieces in Ukraine 😎

  2. I don't think putin is looking to expand and reform the soviet union, no I think he has another goal. If you see the news and look deeper you might find the real reason he is committing these acts.

  3. They were not refugees or terrorists but ex military generals who failed to take down the Turkish government. Most went to Sweden while some felt to Finland. Finland gave up the generals who they protected which is why they joined on April 4th. Sweden is still deciding which is why they have not joined.

  4. There’s no need for Sweden to join NATO because Sweden doesn’t have a border with Russia and Finland and Norway already cover all the land that can touch them so technically Norway and Finland are already protecting Sweden

  5. I just don't understand why you have this idea of Russian expansion, the war in Ukraine started in 2014 because of the genocide committed against the people of the Donbas. Nothing to do with expansion.

  6. As a “NATO citizen” I think the way treating russia is dead wrong. Nato was created against ussr not for russian nation. When ussr fell and Putin wanted to join nato there was no such thing as warsaw pact or communism. Europeans show they need an enemy more than ally. If a new worldwide war fires then there would be no such thing as “world” to live in. It cannot be considered as something to risk just to keep up the game of politics.

Everyone supporting nato as a citizen must consider will side they support brings peace or will it make humanity suffer once more. We must be the supporter of the peace not red or blue

  7. I don't really get Russia's excuse for invading countries that want to join NATO. NATO is a defense alliance and what that means is that if you attack one of those members then you will be opened up to war with every single member of the alliance and will have to take all on at once. All Russia has to do is not attack a member of NATO. It's not an alliance that will back an aggressor normally. No member is obligated to send troops to assist an aggressive member. It is only mandatory to defend members who are blatantly attacked by an aggressive foreign power. So just don't attack NATO members. It's not rocket science.

  8. Finland was already in the EU which is also a defensive pact so this makes no difference. The news is bullshit entertainment to trick people into wasting their time well they think they're smart. None of this will even matter and nobody will care a year from now.

  9. Finland's membership is invaluable.

History has shown they have always had a competent, and capable army. They're only real down side is lack of manpower.

During the winter war they lost 130,000 troops, but the Russians lost 400,000-500,000. They only lost because the Russians had more cannon fodder than the Finns had ammunition.

After that Hitler still invaded through Poland ( more common sense route), and Lieninngrad still fell under siege.

So, Russia technically won ,but did they really?
