Best. Reaction. Ever.
I love that you’re actually real. Which many “reactions” aren’t. As someone who knows this song backward, watching someone experience John’s brilliance first hand is epic.
Love this. ❤
At some point, you really need to see his duet, "Angels", with Lisa Edwards (his long-time backing vocalist who had the crimped blonde hair in "You're the Voice"). Especially the version from 2000… https://youtu.be/5_2NJRIdBO8
I was just thinking today.. how awesome it would be if all the radio stations in Australia would play You’re the Voice at the same time as a tribute to John..imagine all of Australia singing along .. made that would be freaky!
AMERICA could benefit from these lyrics right now ❤
OK LOVE THE GUY, HOWEVER, HE DOES NOT SING, HE SHOUTS.!!!!!!!
SINGING REQUIRES MELODIES AND COLOURS OF TONES IN ONE'S VOICE, SO YEAH, HE REALLY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN SINGING CLASSES AND; SHOULD HAVE REALLY EDUCATED HIMSELF ALL ABOUT, HOW REAL AND TRUE SINGERS ……….SING!
Last saw John live in 2019, a lot has happened since then. Thoughts and prayers for this Aussie icon
To my shame i say, I'm an Aussie and I never saw him in concert.
Anyone I know who has seen John live, tell me it is utterly incredible and a true experience.
Unfortunately, he will now probably never sing again and he's battling some serious illness. But even though i never saw John live – as an Aussie … thanks for all the retirement tours! 🙂 (He retired about 15 times …)
Sunday afternoon in the park with John – practicing his mic stand chucks!
A lot of the arrangement / instrumentation etc can be attributed to David Hirschfelder – another genius of Australian music. Look him up to see what he's done. A lot of movies etc, including Strictly Ballroom.
Thank you
I heard he sings black dog by led zeppelin as a warm up song, could be wrong but as an Aussies I don't doubt it.
IMO, Farnham defined the word peerless. He is *amazing*!! An incredible entertainer in every way.
If you want to understand how good John's voice control is, this video where he is singing at full range while bending over shake hands with the audience. https://youtu.be/3HlR1iwdvlQ?t=5156
His duet with Olivia Newton John is also phenomenal.
Poor John's quite crook at the moment, nice to see you enjoying his music do much.
I’m so grateful to have seen him sing this song live at one of his biggest concerts when his voice was at its absolute peak. Even better than this version, believe it or not. This could be one of the greatest songs out there, especially when it comes to big power ballads. Thanks for bringing this song back to my attention.
I saw Johnny Farnham when I was 15yrs old when he just first released this album. He was making a solo comeback & I had the privilege of going to his concert when he was touring regional Australia. He did his penance – I was a life long fan … He was insanely entertaining the best concert I have ever been too! I'm so happy it makes me feel so young & that you have discovered the love of this guy!, Thanking you!
You need to watch the film clip of this song
The sound of those notes give goosebumps.
unrelated comment: your energy and emotional intelligence is a delight, you’re a hottie.
Love your reactions and with a cute smile to go with it ! If you would like to see "playing to win", and "long way to the top" in this same concert, these two are not a performance, -they're a party ! Enjoy from Troy in Aus'
It’s so so sad that with John recently suffering throat cancer that you or I will likely never get a chance to hear him sing live again.
He’s an Australian icon
Seen him many times
He’s the most amazing performer
Make sure you hunt down his biographical movie being released in a couple of weeks
His story is amazing
Another Australian with an incredible voice is Guy Sebastian
You must review him also
That's the sound that's uniquely Australia….like running as fast as you can for as long as you can through the expanse of countryside they have over there till you drop…then getting up and going again…..beautiful
Just before he threw the stand away, he lobbed it into the air, it spun around, and he caught it. He’s crazy coordinated
You can listen to AT LEAST 10 more Farnham songs and still be blown away… But you might like to watch this impromptu short performance on a live variety show, with Tom Jones,..
https://youtu.be/gmLby23hqOA
in this short video you will also see a bit of John's humour and truly humble nature.
And this is why we love him so much. Not only is he a massive talent, who could sing all genres…but he is funny and a genuinely nice guy, who always made time for his fans.
You should look up his tv interviews to get a sense of John Farnham. He always manages to put a smile on your face, whether he's singing or just talking live.
Man, what an entertainer!
I'm not a giant fan of Johnny or his music but his voice is incredible and this song should be Australia's nation anthem! 🇦🇺
Can you do a David cassidy please his early stuff from the 70s I would love to know haw he has that amazing voice range
Your reaction to John and the Musicans is the correct one
This is an Aussie anthem, hugely powerful, and we love John “Farnsey” Farnham. He is currently battling oral cancer and we are all thinking of him and hoping he has a good recovery.
You will notice in his later concerts that he often has the same backup vocalists, and the bagpipes have always been a key feature of this song. I highly recommend watching him with Jimmy Barnes or anything from “The Main Event”, which was his collaboration with Anthony Warlow and the late and great Olivia Newton John. Be well, Farnsey!
worked so hard and gave so much on stage every show right from the start to the end. He was a powerhouse of energy.
I love how the drummer Angus, really gets into playing and coordinating with the orchestra. He looks like he is having the time of his life. John is one of the very best and is a true entertainer and singer. Absolutely adore him and his band
Could you have a listen to John Farnham Burn For You. ❤❤❤
We have had an unfair number of superb vocalists in Australia: John Farnham; Jimmy Barnes (Cold Chisel); Tim Freeman (The Whitlams), and the incomparable Judith Durham (The Seekers) are just a few of the greats.
We love you because you love our Johny. He is a national treasure. Your face can't hide how we all feel about him as well.
I'm an Aussie and want to thank you for re-igniting my love of "Farnsey"! I think I got so used to him over the years I've been spoiled. Just watching the reactions on your face, even the minute ones, brought a tear to my eyes. I loved the fact you enjoyed it so much 🥰🥰🥰 And if you didn't know, there's this…"Singer Richard Marx tells the story of when he first heard John Farnham's 'You're The Voice', likening it to the first time he saw Elvis Presley on television. Marx and Farnham have since toured together and become good friends and Marx credits him with changing his musical life" 🥰
Madam..we here in Fiji love your work and analysis. Keep going. We are requesting you react Morissette doing a concert with David Foster plus THE BRUNO MARS EVOLUTION MEDLEY…
Much love from the Fiji 🏝 Islands
Hi Vocalyst. You popped up in my feed, and I am hooked. I am subscribed, and I look forward to more! Thanks for really making my day; you are amazing!
Look how far he is from the mic, the song is like crack for them lol
He still can hit the notes
The main reason why the bagpipes are in this song is because John is originally from Scotland and Australia do have a huge Scottish heritage, just like America with it irish heritage.
I’m so pleased to tell you that the video has been edited so that John’s throw and catch of the microphone stand is now seamless. If you’d like to see it, it’s from around 3:30 to 3:40. It’s wonderful to watch!
One of our national anthems down here
He’s got a great sense of humour. He’s genuinely hilarious when he’s interviewed and self-effacing because he experienced tough years after his first success in the 60s.
Bethany! Loved your reaction, love you delving deeper into John's career of music. I have one more live recommendation of him singing his song Freedom. He's wearing a black shirt in that one. Its almost another anthem type song like Your The Voice. You will love it!!
