Maybe shells can be squished by jumping into them so the party ends inside the shell (e.g. when the shell is on a tile that’s next to a wall)
Isn't there still a ratling boss encounter to fight somewhere? I think you tried it once a whole while ago and it was to hard for now. Probably with our party now should be rather easy to deal with.
At the spear place, it looks like you can also use the jump spell to get to that location.

Lightning Rod has one thing going for it with being useable underwater- you don't have to charge and use the shock spell in it, you can use it like a weapon, albeit a bit weak one but with Shock attribute. We're at the point of game where this knowledge is completely useless, so just leaving this fun fact. Whack the underwater critters with Grimrock's alternative Stun Baton!
