Fields of fun! 2CVGB Registers' Day 2022

Nothing quite beats an entire weekend of Citroen 2CV action. This video gently takes you through the highlights of the camping weekend, before tackling the main show day itself for a more traditional car show report.

  1. There may be some confusion regarding erection times, but when it comes to staying power you leave them in the shade.
This is a super enjoyable video and a real treat for the uninitiated such as myself. These cars are wonderful to see and you are a champion of that cause. Next time, please, wear a hat, do not neglect your thermostat. Many thanks.

  2. Great video and the sound track at the beginning sounded spot on, especially the second track. Also I was watching your Bob update on Wednesday, and I have to say yous were looking very relaxed and enjoying yourselves. I like Bob a bit better than a trailer tent with more of a caravan feel to it, and although I kind of prefer folding caravans with their solid sides, the pull out bedrooms give good extra room. As I was watching that video I thought "They're still away travelling it will probably be a while before I get my Model TWK, also they might not have managed to get more yet. Next day knock on the door post man with a parcel, thinking I'm not expecting anything I took it and thanked him. I opened it up and to my amazement and joy it was TWK!! I love it, it's braw (great lol). So from James in Glasgow thank you :). Sorry for the long comment, but it made my day.

  3. One thing I regret in my life is, not having bought that Méhary so many years ago, I went for test driving. Then, prices were low, like chf 1'500 for a "MOT" (called differently in Switzerland: MFK) tested but very lame with a soft top. Heaven on earth must be driving an open Méhary on French Riviera.

  5. One of my long-term obsessions is a 2CV anything…but sadly, not officially imported into the States. By the way, this video ranks very high up in your repertoire, as a super-fine piece of work!

  6. Looked a great weekend. I saw a lovely cream coloured Citroen Diane 6 in my local village in the Midlands, i got more excited seeing it than the high end cars seen in the car park.

  7. Back in the day, my mate was obsessed with 2CVs (although his first car was a Dyane 6 which was complete deathtrap, lol). We used to spot different 2CVs when we were out and about and I'm sure we counted well in to double figures for either special editions or dealer specials; there was a Cochon which had pink bullbars front and rear and pig decals on the back, the Scotch with tartan doors and I'm sure there was a Wrigley. Can't remember the others ☹️

  8. With so many 2CVs in one spot I was surprised not to see a single "Sausss-Ente"- turns out they are super rare and pretty much exclusive to Germany.. my perspective was a bit screwed because there are a few of those driving around in my area…

  9. 8:20 Did I have a brain hiccough? First glance at the two blue cars, they looked completely different. The first looked much more curved than the second, until Ian pointed out the lights and bar. Tiny details making such a difference. You don't get that on modern cars.

  10. I used to see a Blue Bijou regularly at the much missed Selkirk Classic Car Show. I thought it was the best thing to come out of Slough since Thunderbirds… Funny how 2CV go 'Whirr' and Morris Minors go 'Fart'😄

  11. Very nice! – This made me remember that not only did I see two 2CVs in the same day, earlier this week I saw a sand yellow ripple-bonnet with cut up rear fenders, that looked suspiciously much like one of those twin-engine Saharas! Could it have been a real one? Or was it just a replica? I will never know. Also spotted a cream/burgundy Dolly on the motorway about a month ago.

  12. I found myself getting very stressed out doing my own brake pipes earlier (I HATE doing brake pipes with a passion but needs must). I gave up, wandered off and watched the intro for this video, it did a wonderful job of calming my nerves. Car is now parked back outside with a pair of new flexis and pipe sections! Genuinely helped me, much appreciated 👍 Cheers Ian!
