  1. For the Uniform – I always enjoy the fact that they have to go through all the things that are normally done automatically by the computer. The overlapping instructions and dialogue is brilliant.

And Les Miserables is a great book, long but great.

  2. Dude! What do you have against two-parters with Garak?! The Cardassian/Romulan attack on the Dominion in Season Three also had you leave us on Part I because it was the second episode of the video, and now you've gone and done it again. Not cool, dude. Not cool. (Awesome reactions! I hope you enjoy what's yet to come, and this isn't even the end of the season!)

  3. I loved your reaction at the end of "In Purgatory's Shadow" That's how everyone felt who watched it originally. Just be glad you don't have to necessarily wait another week to see what happens, haha

  4. One curious thing about Bashir’s uniform. He and Martok were abducted while sleeping. Yet they both are wearing full uniforms. So do they normally sleep in their uniforms or do the abductors typically grab a change of clothes on their way out?

  5. Klingons are supposed to off themselves rather than be taken prisoner, yes?

I always hated when they took obvious jokes like “Klingons don’t take prisoners” and “I multiply my time estimates by four so I look like a miracle” and turn them into cannon. Take this exchange:

GARAK: Aren't you Klingons supposed to kill yourselves when you're taken prisoner?
WORF: Not when there are still enemies to fight.
    MARTOK: Or hope of escape.

Well DUH. How can you be taken and held as a prisoner if there aren’t still enemies to fight? Why wouldn’t there always be hope of escape?

    Bleh.

  6. The actor playing Captain Sanders was Eric Pierpoint who is best known for starring in an older TV series called Alien Nation. It was pretty good. You might want to check it out. James Horan who plays the lead Jem "Hadar has played in many Star Trek projects. This is a new older actress playing Ziyal. Melanie Smith.

  7. I was so pissed off at the end of this part 1 because l had to wait over a month to purchase the next 2 episodes on video cassette. It used to cost me $45 dollars for one 2 episode tape to get it imported from the UK, because it took longer to come out here in Australia.

  8. And so another RolyPolyOllie reaction goes into my Best Reactions Playlist.
    1) holding up your hand as you looked around during the Bashir reveal. You looked like you wanted to run but didn't know where, while your upheld hand was asking for Divine help.
    2) throwing yourself to the floor…."to be continued…3 days!" Your poor dog was looking like "Oh not this again."
    But most of all….
    3) that cat looking out of your pocket. Every time I looked at it…😂.
    You never disappoint…..Thank You!
(Not that you need my approval)

  9. The thing with for the uniform that most people don't realise is that Sisko is fully covered for his act, General Order 24 gives Starfleet captains full authority to destroy a planet if it's deemed that they represent a threat to the federation.

Under modern day rules of engagement we would see it as war crimes but in this universe it is covered in the starfleet charter

  10. I think the continuity of changeling Bashir's presence has always been a hot topic. We obviously take every episode he's been in the new uniform as the changeling version yet it does seem more than a month in time has passed. Really is difficult for the events to add up.

  11. If I'd been the Admiral in command of Sisko, I would have relieved him and charged him for destroying the biosphere of a whole planet. I'd also relieve Worf for carrying out an illegal order, and had Kira removed for allowing Sisko to remain in command when he was CLEARLY not acting rationally.

  12. Of course you've previously seen the power-up and departure sequence of a Federation ship. Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Don't worry, you'll see it again in Voyager & Enterprise,…and perhaps again in DS9.

  13. How would you survive the three days until you can see Part 2?

Geez Ollie, man up and wait a full week (minimum, somerimes other things would push it to two weeks between episodes) like we had to when it was first broadcast.
