  1. he may have been banned, but honestly the way he was just sent to a jail cell and that gm or npc or whatever appeared out of nowhere was so badass, i wanted to see more of that interaction

  2. do not use addons to publicly shame other players or to gain an unfair advantage, any other addon falls under dont show, dont tell. this was the stipulation. it was clearly pointed out as he cant openly endorse use of addons but since they have no way to know you have such things on your PC. people like to act like, since he said that in 2020, that its somehow null if he doesnt continually repeat himself year after year. certain sections of the playerbase have been taking advantage of his good graces for far too long. its about time the guillotine blade was dropped upon the necks of those who openly break TOS.

  4. I went to jail for being named HughJassole. Even my poor chocobo wasnt safe from the name change. Apparently Chocoho wasnt appropriate either. 🤷‍♂️

Side note: being new to the game and being pulled from random questing i thought was a random event. Then some guy in that same armor appeared. Good times.

  5. What's so hard to understand about
DONT PUBLICALLY SHOW YOUR BLATANT ADD ONS ON STREAM.

Idk much about add ons, but many people have pointed out that he was using death counts and timers as well as parry buffs and debuff timers or something like that. Some people said but it's never proven that he was also using automated call outs.

It wasn't just ACT. So please stop saying it's cause of ACT. It's the other shit he had. ACT is the only well known one he was using.

It's like. Snorting cocaine or something. As long as no one can see it, no one will know or care, but if you're snorting cochise on stream, you're probably gonna see the cops soon.

  6. Addons and mods have always been "Don't talk about it." They dun goofed and showed it to the world. Even the lewd mods SE doesn't give a crap about, so long as you don't have their watermark in the screenshots. This is also not a new thing. SE has been cracking down on people ever since Parse was being used. They don't care about it but the minute people started being dicks with Parse, SE started stepping in. It's always on a report by report basis too. Kinda like when people were being silly with Adventurer Plates. No one cared until it started getting out of hand, then SE had to be like "Why are you like this?"

  7. This is one of the reasons this game sucks. The addon isn't a cheat, it's to improve yourself. If he was toxic with it, sure.. that's another thing. >_<

  8. I was in ARK (basically GM's) in Anarchy Online in the early 200's when the game was good. We used to pull people into a "safe" area when we wanted to talk with someone about what they did or was reported for. but already there we would be "invisible" just watching, and then appear to show the player he's not alone.

  9. i dont understand the logic of having addons ingame and then banning people for using them. Why dont you remove all addons compatibility in the first place ? Isn't an addon by definition something that you install outside of the game , to help you with stuff inside the game?

  10. As neat as this is this imagine if it was Hydaelyn instead of the game master. Crystal Mom pulling you out of a life and death situation to politely scold you for not being nice or using things that your not suppose to.

  11. they used to do the same thing in runescape back in the day if you were caught cheating. And players could use an item called disk of returning to visit the jail and make fun of them and throw rotten tomatoes

  12. Maybe it's just me but I feel Modding shouldn't be against ToS. Cause FFXIV has so much freedom, and modding will give you even more freedom and make it even more fun (as long as it doesn't give you an advantage of course). Even WoW had better mod support. I heard that's illegal in Japan in general though which make it more understandable for the game, but bad rule still cause I feel it should be up to the dev to create the kind of game they want to make. But oh well, on the plus side I heard the default UI in FFXIV was better so don't need mod in FFXIV, while in WoW you do (alot of players still use mods in FFXIV though with good intentions) lol XD. I am glad toxic is against ToS though cause Toxic makes it less fun, something WoW doesn't do sadly.

  13. More than likely the GM was like "So, if you're going to use them. Don't fricken stream them, ffs." and gave them like, a 12 hour ban, a smack on the wrist, and move on. At least first offense anyway

  14. they just need to allow addons. sure they are "allowed" but just can't stream with them, thing is I want to stream and playing without them is just awful. I need to be told when im fucking up my rotation or I need to know how much time is left on cooldowns without looking at the ability.

  15. they've been very generous with addons and mods lol it's a very don't show and tell and hush hush so it's a very known secret. But as soon as you stream or brag out loud about your addons Yoshi P comes down like the god he is and smites you

  16. I've also been to FFXIV prison. I was on an S-Rank hunt and the guy who called it called out the pull time. Someone pulled early so I, as a tank, pulled aggro and reset it. I kept doing this until it was pull time. The early puller apparently reported me for griefing and I ended up in jail awhile after the S-Rank. The GM was super chill and when I explained the situation to him he was basically like "Damn, bro. That sucks. Technically, you're not supposed to, but imo you did the right thing."

  17. I just want to see an MMO with a literal ban hammer in some major hub city and everyone can just sit around all day and watch as bots and people getting banned just get teleported under the hammer and some prophet-like NPC is like "xxbigDick69 is to be banned for <reason" and then the hammer comes down and claps them.
