By using Dueling Book data available from YGOscope.com, I created a formula to score decks based on their representation among all players and top ranked players and the decks’ win percentages, and categorize them into tiers. What are your thoughts on how this formula turned out? Not surprising that some of the top decks include Kashtira, Branded, Spright, Swordsoul, and much more!

You can find my first tier list video that covers how the formula is calculated along with an example: https://youtu.be/GVG2ruaO6cc

The formula has been updated to use representation from top cut of the most recent YCS: https://youtu.be/GtR_ZDWxxKw

  1. P.s. I realize I used the Top 8 Breakdown at YCS Vegas for the top cut data in the formula, because that was the only deck breakdown I could find at the time of recording. Ideally, I should have used the Top 16 decks. Sorry about that! Also, don't forget to check out my recent meta analysis of the top ranked players on Dueling Book here: https://youtu.be/Jv5dGwTc-r8

  2. Concerning
    Voice over vs. free style

I don't feel much is lost when u go free style in terms of quality
    If anything, it's insignificant

And considering you save a lot of time and effort I think the best choice is free style. Wouldn't want you getting burned out, and I also think you provide quality content due to your experience and knowledge of the game.

    Thats my feedback
Thank you always for the content you provide

  3. As someone who has a hard time writing script and not getting really annoyed with the process, I say go for freestyle, if you enjoy it and its less stress, your followers will acclimate.

  4. Really glad to see that the data is becoming more complete as more decks are being able to be identified 🙂 Out of curiosity, do you know what was causing this issue on their end?

(And PS- I've watched that Albaz Lore video too, it was so cool to see how the card arts fit into the storyline!)

  5. Do you go through and combine the statics across archtypes? I'm pretty sure you did with at least Drytron and Dark World. I know for a fact "Dark World" and "Danger! Dark World" has two different entries with "Dark World" hovering around 49% and "Danger! Dark World" being more popular and hovering around 56%.

There's ~8 tier 1 decks based purely on the available data (limited as it is) at 60+% winrate. Kashtira, Floo, Mathmech, Cyber Angle Drytron, Swordsoul Tenyi Yang Zing, Fure Hire Runick, and Ignister. Now some of these aren't popular enough to be properly side decked against, simply unexpected, or perhaps people don't know how to play against the deck with Cyber Angle Dryton seeing 1/10th as many matches as Kashtira for example. So the further down that list you go I personally think the win rate counts for a bit less as I would expect to see the win rate fall if any of these less played "tier 1" decks suddenly became extremely popular with a massive target on their back. Also the further down the list you go the more likely you have a small numbers problem where the week to week win rate can shift by a few percentile. All of the above is also true for the Tier 2 decks with the exception of Branded.

Tier 2 decks at 55+% win rate are Branded, Runick Spright, Danger! Dark World (not the "generic" Dark World you chose which believe is an aggregate of anything "Dark World"), Shaddoll Tear, Dragon Link/Bystial (the highest win rate of the tier 2 decks), Naturia Runick, Marineces, and Virtual World.

  6. A lot of Darkworld players lost on the bubble at the YCS. If kash wasnt a deck I think Darkworld would be a tier 1 contender for sure, It has a good matchup into pretty much everything else

  7. love the content and objective data, I would say go for freestyle. If you aren't comfortable with the format your content is presented in it will naturally be lower quality even if the way the information itself is being presented may be marginally better. Thanks for hard work and need a post ycs cydra profile soon 😉
