Faux Terracotta Planter Thrift lip

Steps:
1. Mix Amazing Cast Resin to create your mould castings with the Viridis Mould.
2. Pour in your desired mould cavities.
3. As they are curing, make sure to take them out a little early, when it is white, but still a little warm to the touch so you can bend it around your surface for the perfect fit.
4. We primed our thrifted plastic pot, but this step can be optional depending on your pot’s surface, we just thought this would help everything adhere best.
5. Glue your mould castings on with Tight Bond Quick and Thick, bending them around your surface.
6. Remove excess glue.
7. Once dry, paint with a vintage terracotta color (we mixed our own with 50% deep brown, 25% orange, 25% red).
8. Make a paint wash with 2 parts water to 1 part soft white colored chalk paint.
9. Dab on with a chippy brush.
10. Blot with a towel.
11. Add some drips with your brush along the top and allow the wash to run down naturally for the perfect vintage feel.
12. You can seal with clear wax or another sealer of your choice if desired.

  1. This turned out just wonderful! Have u used any Allumilite quick set resin moulds OR hot glue ones outside, over the summer in the midwest or anywhere? Wondering if either would hold up and what u used to seal them with please. Thank you!!!!
