Man charged with manslaughter after ‘gentle soul’ killed in alleged road rage attack

The driver allegedly behind a fatal road rage attack that killed a kickboxer in Western Sydney has been charged with manslaughter.
Rhyce Harding, 27, died after he was allegedly dragged 100 metres by a ute along Jersey Road in Blackett about 8.45am yesterday.
The man behind the wheel left the scene, prompting an almost 24-hour search for him.
Police seized a white ute from Mileham Street in Windsor, leading to a 39-year-old man to attend Mount Druitt Police Station at about 6.30am today.
He has now been charged with manslaughter, failing to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death, negligent driving (occasioning death), and dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous.
The man was refused bail and will face Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
Police will allege Harding had got out of his vehicle after being threatened by the car following him and “words were exchanged”.
“It’s devastating and bad for the victim’s family,” Inspector Shane Ranee said at a press conference yesterday.
