  1. I do dislike that they game basically calls you a coward for sending someone whos immune to radiation in to activate the purifier instead

Edit: I'm well aware of what it was before broken steel changed it, and that they couldnt/didnt want to rehire Ron Perlmen to voice one or two extra lines, It doesnt mean I can't dislike it

  2. Sergeant RL- 3, may his name be venerated through the ages. Songs shall be sung and stories told of his heroism and sacrifice… unlike that miserable coward Joshua. i mean, not willing to die for no reason at all… disgraceful.

  4. Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games of all time, but this is a stark reminder of how much the ending still sucks.

Keep in mind it's even worse without Broken Steel because you have no choice other than to sacrifice yourself, but even with Broken Steel the game still gives the player sh*t for not doing it.

  5. And so, Joshua intelligently utilized his resources to activate Project Purity, granting all in the wasteland clean water, and was labelled a bitch for his efforts.

God I hate Bethesda's weird decision to chastise the player for being smart.

Edit: and I'm aware that they simply didn't want to redo the lines, because it's DLC only. However they could have just used the normal lines as if you had gone in. The chastising slide is supposed to exist if you send Sarah in, where you are legitimately choosing someone else to take the fall.

  6. So no one has came up with a better ending story mod ? I mean with all the modders out there, i figure it would have been a thing. Even a mod where some of the pictures was of your player character in what ever they was wearing. Like any of the giving moments where the pictures was at. I guess that might be to hard to do idk. But its a nice idea. (I still want some one to explain how the scientist lady and that general guy survived.) ( cause wasnt the lady that was shot the one that he talked to in the enclave buncker? i could be wrong)

  7. Well that kind of sucks. Joshua got dissed for not sacrificing himself, when he literally "thought of a third option" (four if you count Fawkes) that involved no-one having to die at all… Seems more noble than even giving up your own life. But what can you do, the story is pretty old by now. There have been embelishments in the re-tellings (core-code), and all-together unexplained outside forces (mods). I'm just glad we get more of 'young' Joshua in the future… Unless he gets older in the process, then I'll be rooting for him instead… Either way, I'm curious to see his further adventures.

OOC: I've never used the Two Wastelands mod, so I'm actually pretty curious how they bridge this one, here in DC, with the one in Vegas. If anyone is willing, can you let me know if Gopher had to take that option to continue the story with Joshua; or if there was some kind of fail-safe in place, even if your character did turn Project Purity on themself. Or heck, maybe you have to RP it, and load up a "play as a ghoul" mod, or something. I don't know.

  8. Hopefully "The End" was just a joke and there's more in store for Joshua.
Thanks for all the Nostalgia, Gopher. I still have fond memories of playing Fallout 3 for the first time without any DLC because it didn't exist yet. I still have the lunchbox and all the goodies and remember needing to buy stupid Microsoft coins or whatever they were called to acquire the DLC. I enjoyed the game so much that I even bought the Prima guide to ensure I saw everything there was to see; I don't have the guide anymore, kinda wish I did for completeness' sake. …but yeah, I remember being "revived" by Broken Steel and playing on. It's not the Fallout 3 I wished for as a sequel to Fallout 2, but I've certainly grown to love it and New Vegas.

  9. i’m so glad Joshua made the choice he did at the end. New players need to see the various options available even those they might not have thought of. Very enjoyable playthrough, whats next for Josh now he has fulfilled his father’s dream?

  10. Fallout 3's ending.. wow.. at least you were able to send RL-3 into the purifier. Before broken steel if you asked Fawkes, didn't he refuse and say it was your destiny?..

I need to add that I was so relieved to see the "to be continued" at the end of the video. This has been one of my favourite playthroughs! Keep it up man!
