Amazon’s New World, an action combat MMORPG, will launch on August 31, 2021. It’ll go into closed beta before that on July 20. Before that, it’s had a bit of a wild history of development!

I really like how they changed the weapons over the last year. Way more balanced and fun – you can also tell from the weapons you see players use.
Nice to see a developer listen to the potential player base 🙂
first
"Subscriber loyalty?" hey that's me. What's this new world thing about.
Wasn't hugely taken by the open beta and it ran like a slug on my poor old PC (the other games I play – ESO and GW2 – run just fine at the moment so I see no need to buy a new machine just for a game that I may or may not like) so I'm not likely to pick this up at launch, I'll bide my time a bit and look at reviews post-launch. The changes they've made do sound good though.
This game could either be amazing or to hyped and will fall flat after new players are dissapointed. Post launch updates will prob solve some problems, looking forward to seeing what this game will become!
I have that bizarre subscriber loyalty
yo 5-7 years is what I expect an mmo to be in development for and thats just a base game nothing special wow was 5 years and ff14 took like 9 years total with the whole disaster in 2010 release. new world i expected to be at least 2022 or even 23 I don't think people realize how long mmorpg's take to make i swear even developers dont relize what they are about to start and people always try to demand the game new world looks really good for 5 years looks much more compact with content then wow or ff14 did on release sometimes im just like no way they made this then again it is amazon. im just kinda mind blown ashes of creation (i understand crowd funded but its like the most anticipated mmo people are waiting for) is in its 7 year development and its no where the level new world is at its crazy maybe im just an idiot
It's both refreshing a bit surreal to have a MMO dev team really listen to the playerbase as much as these devs have done and gives me a lot of reassurance post release. It's really nice to see devs d this while development is going on, honestly its mind blowing. But.. the realy shit show in MMORPG's is when its public. Then you get the Real test of ho the game will be making the first couple of months a crucial time frame and I'm very curious how the game will be handled.
However, so far I'm very happy how the development cycle has been, they are not afraid to admit they were wrong, they made sweeping changes. Without boasting about it. they just remained quit, made the changes and showed them and got a really good reception as a result. This is how it should be, and honestly I wish this happened with Cyberpunk and many other games regardless of genre.
This was an excellen video, I havent strictly followed the developement and this was concise, easy and enjoyable to watch!
Game looks amazing IMO
