Faerie Afterlight is a Metroidvania that takes place in the world of Lumina, where the Sea seems to be in the sky. You take on the role of a mysterious character named Kimo and your buddy Wispy as you try to put back together the fractured parts of Lucentia. Faerie Afterlight is a Metroidvania that focuses very much so on its gameplay mechanics and aesthetic, but to better see if this could be a game for you, tune in to My Thoughts, on Faerie Afterlight.

  1. From the demo, this seemed to okay like super meat boy; did you play with a controller or keyboard? I would be playing this on steam deck, the lack of exploration, the smb play style makes me reluctant to buy.

  2. It's disappointing as a metroidvania, but somewhat acceptable as a puzzle platformer. They could've removed the combat altogether and nothing of value would've been lost. The bosses are all snooze-fests; the boring music mixed with the slow as fuck projectiles and movement does make them tedious to fight.
