Extreme heat in the Northern Cape leads to deaths



The Northern Cape Health department says seven people have died in Kakamas due to heatstroke and another is on a ventilator and recovering in the hospital. The area experienced temperatures in the forties.

The department has further encouraged people to avoid dehydration and vigorous activities in hot and humid conditions.
