Eve Vanguard Footage! Reaction from a Dust 514 Veteran

Eve Fanfest 2023 has begun and we finally have a look at EVE Vanguard, the spiritual successor to Dust 514. Eve Vanguard will be fully integrated with the EVE Online Universe, and with luck the release date could be as early as December 2023!

  1. As a Dust veteran who has been waiting 10 years, I have deep mixfeelings Heracles.
On the one hand I feel excited that in December** we will be able to try this FPS remake of Dust/Eve "I don't know anymore" Shooter, but I keep reminding myself that this has happened already 3 times over the past 10 years… and also that I am missing the tanks and the dropships… … , as well as camping to defend an objective, which really made Dust great.
Really carefully I receive these news, and seeing Rattati in scene once again it just make me feel that it is going to again, fail.

  2. This is the new model games are going to make. Like battle Royale feels dead to me but tarkov style games are very welcome. I am not a huge fan but I'll download it and start reading the lore to understand the Eve universe 😅 .

  3. Lo que mas me divertía de Dust era la guerra planetaria y el conquistar territorios, espero que en esta versión sea algo muy similar o igual. En los videos que he visto no me ha quedado claro, será así? sabéis algo?

  4. PvPvE, so it's an extraction shooter. HIlmar loves throwing money at bad ideas. If I wanted Tarkov I'd play Tarkov, if I wanted sci-fi Tarkov I'd play Marauders or for the time it was available The Cycle Frontier. I just wanted Dust back but properly fleshed out. Looks like the large scale combined arms segment of the FPS genre gets to remain undersupplied.

  5. Unfortunate. They've clearly just caved and created yet another fps for the masses. Now the EVE tie-ins are cool and fun but it's effectively a skin of 90% of fps games. Good thing we have Elite Dangerous!

  6. So no big war battles with troops and vehicle’s. Lame asf no predecessor. it is its own thing, dust 514 was a gem that only few will get to play an that will remain true since there never goin back to that at all it. Their going in a new eve direction 😔

  7. Dust 514 vet here. Is it just me but Dust 514 just needed enhancing. Paying for weapons, skill books, battles that sound large and explosive. It’s all there! Just re-do Dust 514. So many concepts in D514 are used today.

I miss the heavy suits and vehicles.
However, this time of "balance" (buffing and nerfing) leaves no room for our nostalgia.
what we remember in terms of skill progression and true customization not just cosmetic changes will happen.
I had left from dust for basic training and upon returning (6 months later) the game was completely different.
suits whether militia or prototype seemed to have very little difference.
This could have just seemed to be the case as my preferred playstyle was heavy and the heavy machine guns were nerfed to overheat before a kill was possible.
Edit: im obviously gonna play and give it a fair shake because its still gonna be better than whats on the FPS market currently.
I just hope those who havent experienced dust dont flood the forums complaining of balancing issues after being conditioned by the current FPS market.
Let COD produce the COD re-skins and if thats your thing play COD.
    LET DUST BE DUST.
