So the angel cartel insurgency really had specific planets that had the suppression helped and hindered by the Vangaurd test. The FOB spawned in Gulmorogod which is near Dammalin territory. The thing is, in most insurgencies Dammalin and certain systems around it don't normally fall, due to them sounding the horn of minmatar and they themselves fighting due to them having a considerable amount of assets in that part of space. The fact that this affected them to where Abudban flipped to pirates caused alot of freighters, unsuspecting miners and haulers to be destroyed due to that specific system being 1J away from Rens, which is still a trade hub used by locals in that region.
Not only that, the way to Hek and more or less Dodixie through heimatar atleast was pretty much blocked off.
So the effect that vangaurd players did, in that way did affect someone's journey in space. I think if that was the effect they were going for with this smaller iteration of an example they succeeded.
I agree that something like ship boarding would be cool. I don't really see that being a thing in regards to hijacking say a player owned ship, but maybe within the confines of the vangaurd itself I think that would be cool. I think fighting inside of a Station would be pretty awesome, If a station is as huge as the books kind of make them out to be it could be a pretty cool vertical warfare type of map or even game mode, there are so many things and features that they could add to really make things sizzle from a marketing standpoint, but I'm trying to focus on the marketing they have already put out which is those two trailers.
If they want it to be a successor of DUST for example, we haven't neccesarily seen anything in regards to planetary control, or fighting / owning districts. I think are being careful with that but with how the PI system was just re worked, it may mean that something is coming in that regard.
So far, you play the Extraction Shooter component of Vangaurd and build up your chipset/weapon/drones so that when you fight in the 9v9, you can potentially bring a better gun to that fight and actually have an affect on EVE online. To a FPS player, there are many ways you can make that more enjoyable from a progression standpoint, but also on the EVE side of things besides the gain/loss of suppression if there is a new item that is introduced say the example Rattati gave in regards to giving illegal implants or illegal drugs which is the reward that is given to because a player in Vangaurd completed X contract is a simple loop that could be expanded on as well.
I focus on that because it was used as an example in the inital trailer video and even though it may not work ver batum, its a better expectation for me to settle on.
How the hell do you manage 14 ships in space at once without using macros?
Welcome back!!! Oh my, this makes me smile 😊
What a lad
