  1. The problem is, as a food service worker in the poultry industry, they are factually NOT the same ever when it comes to food.

These companies will hire illegal immigrants (in some cases, the very ones they demonize publicly), people with felonies, or use the work release program, to open a "value brand" line in their plant to increase profits. These lines throw everything they know they cannot sell onto these lines, or just simply use less of the flavorings/even cut the product with less quality corn/breading/etc. These lines also almost always have the first month QA on them, and the lazier or forced laborers are always on them. The quality control will pass USDA inspection, but they are far from the brand name. In the poultry industry specifically, something the Supersize ME guy couldn't get a glimpse at, was the giant tubs of slosh they call protein addictive, that they add to the vats of this value chicken, in order to pump up the protein content on their servings.

Ever buy value nuts? They always have a handful at least of nuts they'd never dare put in their 15-20 dollar bags, and the rest are just passable as essentially the same thing.

The Aldi Clancy's chips do slap though, probably because the entire bag isn't covered in 2 pounds of flavoring, and you won't go into a sodium coma after 10 chips.

They are lying about them tasting the same as the brand name though. They are close enough, but I guarantee I could differentiate a handful. Sometimes you'll get one of the premium coated chips, but it's like 3 in there with all of the flavoring.

I hate these videos because they misinform the consumer, and then Aldi tried to charge the exact same price as the name-brand cereal. I can literally go to my local one right one now and show you that their cereal ripoffs are literally the same price now. Some are better tasting imo than the name brand, but that's probably because I no longer consume agregious amounts junk food, and buying Aldi brand for the occasional treat is just as good to my pallette.

  3. Shane discovering Private Labelling is wild enough, but okay sure, you never really thought about it, I can get that… But why is he so stunned by store brands foods??? They're SUPPOSED to taste the same

  4. I mean instead, Shane could’ve just filmed a fun chill video taste testing generic vs name brand snacks. Kinda like a good mythical morning type video. Would’ve been way less embarrassing.
