wow – huge list of things they want – tough brief. House 1 though, lovely – and the amount of land. House 2, not their thing (or mine lol)but I thought it was cool. Loved mystery house (although personally I'd wall in the en suite master bath).
None of these houses were a good fit. Johnny had them in a price range that included land they didn't want. No doubt they could have found a less expensive house with a bit of land, and outbuilding(s) that was fully modern and convenient.
I loved, loved, loved the mystery house! Completely understand why they fell for it but also why they decided to continue searching. And sigh, it certainly is bitter-sweet to watch Jonnie at his very best in these. For me he was the best presenter of the lot, by a country-mile. So considerate, so focused on guiding people on a journey, making them think, pushing them a little but always being absolutely true to them and their wishes and needs.
Why would any couple want property with 7 or more bedrooms. Especially when they retire. Who will clean these rooms. I personally would love a small cozy modest home.
Nice couple. Hope they found just the right forever home. I would have taken the second property. Lovely home and acreage. I'd have made it into an animal rescue with horses and dogs.
Jonnie Irwin will be missed, though the public's memories of him will ultimately fade. However, Jonnie's sons will have personal memories of being in his presence plus these wonderful "Escape To the Country" episodes to look back upon. May they see and treasure their father's sense of humor, his athleticism, his good naturedness and his curiosity and interest in learning new things. I wish them and his widow all the best in the coming years.

Watching this re-run makes me miss Johnny …. He was just such a marvelous presenter with a wonderful personality. RIP Johnny.😢

Really miss Jonnie Irwin and the way he related to everyone. What a great man!
Love watching Johnnie – what a legacy he has left us. Missed by thousands.
Much like watching old episodes of 8 out of 10 Cats with Sean, watching old episodes of ETTC with Jonnie will always make me a little sad.
Wasn’t a fan of any of the houses
RIP, Johnny.
Wow, they asked for light and airy and they got dim and dingy
Oui Riposa Jonnie!✝️🙏🏻😢😢

Heartbreaking to watch Jonnie so full of energy and life…then there is the reality. So sad.
They need a quiet neighborhood. They're bringing their own noise: a helicopter.
Hmmm…. how will the neighbors feel about a helicopter flying in and out of their picture perfect and peaceful village?
