I liked that AI performance by Syracuse in the defense of Iol. They just rushed with all your supporting army and caused quite some losses, as if they knew, their fate was to not survive that sunny day at the Mediterranian Sea.
About your treasury, especially when you have your eastern provinces, check the button with the treasure chest to learn about taxes, economy, trade, corruption, wages, etc. Also have a look on the overview map about finances and the province list on the right black box with the political mini map. That should give you an insight about gold and wealth level.
Whats the next campaign?
I think your income changed because you gained an empire level. Corruption and army cost probably sky rocketed. It happened after you took a city.
Really nice episode, this campaign continues to entertain.
When you get a big payout off the trade agreement — if it is a one time thing, that would explain the huge difference in your income. I think your empire leveled up which makes things more costly thus less $$. You may as well conquer the known world since you own most of it so far.
