Beneath the parade of gondolas soaring into the sky over the causeway to World Showcase Lagoon, International Gateway is a lesser known entrance to EPCOT’s cavalcade of eleven nations and their collection of stories. But before we embark on that sensory adventure, we find a moment of quiet anticipation Here – a prologue, if you will, to set the scene for our grand adventure. From Here, we catch glimpses of gardens, snatches of music, the outline of the Eiffel Tower…an enticing preview our impending explorations and all the Magic that lay in store.
At the beginning of any journey, there is a moment of joy and exhilaration that is different from any we will find along the way. It is filled with hope and eager expectation; the prospect of the world at our fingertips that makes our spirit leap with the thrill of it all. That is the moment we find in this space, the one held in this prologue of “A long time ago,” or “Once Upon a Time.” It is the pause before play, the moment before the profound leap into the unknown, where we are invited to relish in this feeling of joy, allowing it to fill us and claim us and carry us onward…
