  1. Another fun thought about the Dragoons is that their lance is only ap -2, so their melee prowess combined with the removal of Armour of Contempt makes it count just that little bit more

  2. I mean its certainly welcome changes but I dont feel like it will change much. The army still needs to basically rely on ironstrider spam as none of the core army issues have been addressed.

Cantacles and doctrinas are still a mess and require an engineering degree to keep track of, you still dont punch hard enough with most units and the high cost of all stratagems and wargear will still bleed you dry of cp turn 1.

Most of the cult mechanicus part of the codex is still beyond useless outside of cheeky VP grab plays… Yeah tl:dr the faction is imo a hot mess that now costs slightly less points to field, woho.

  3. I have been a defender of the dragoons for quite a while now, people didn't seem to realize just how hard even just a unit of 2 can hit if you put the Chain-Taser Protocols stratagem on them. 4 attacks per model at S8 AP-2 D2 with 2 extra hits on each 5+ roll gets crazy quick. Sadly the jezzails are still kinda meh, but at least no more Armour of Contempt means people will have to take better care of their fragile buffing characters around sniper chickens (and in arquebus distance). Those Apothecaries and Hospitallers better watch out, or they'll be the ones going to the infirmary.

  4. Losing the Strategems from Veteran Cohort still hurts like hell. Kataphron buffs are nice but we're mostly back to small bricks of troops, maybe Cawl and mostly tech priest centered vehicle lists. Not bad but losing the ability to flex melee like we used to hurts.

  5. Through most of this edition I've kept running Kataphron and Electro-priests, purely because I like the look of them, so all these changes are just icing on the cake to keep playing what I like 😀

  6. I would like that Tech priest could heal Imperium Veichles just as flavor for 2vs2 as they usually fight with the guard.

Very happi with the changes i can wait to try lists

  7. Eradication of flesh is really good. It doesn't state that the vehicles have to do the killing of units. Just ad mec units in general and you just need to have an ad mech vehicle unit on the board. Put one 55 pt dragoon behind terrain where he can't be seen and let the infantry do the work

  8. So ad-mech actually have a heavy support section that's not a total waste of points now? Finally, my beloved 50's B-movie space robots don't seem like such a bad idea any more! 🤣

  9. Yeah Cawl is still not worth taking but I'm extremely happy with the rest of the changes as an Admech main. I have most lists around 250pts cheaper and those points go further anyway with the buffs. Core Kataphrons are a bigger change than many realise, and really help the army out, and the secondary changes are lovely.

Internal balance feels so much better and I'm overwhelmed with list concepts for different forge worlds right now.

  10. I just started getting into 40k, I'm currently building admech as my first army because they're my absolute favorite faction even knowing they were the worst. Now right as I'm getting up to 1000 points they're buffed. Praise the Omnissiah

  11. Having played a game this weekend with the new points and rules I can attest to the 5++ save making units way more durable. Feels like I can actually put up a fight again. I did win the game by just couple points and I do attribute that to having a few more models on the board and them not disappearing nearly as quickly.
