  1. Off topic but did you get to ride the Overground between Camden Road and South Hampstead when it was diverted over the xmas/new year period? I've always wanted to go over the Camden Lock bridge but only had chance at night when it was dark. I wish some of the Watford trains went that way and carried on to Highbury And Islington and beyond instead of Euston.

  2. At the behest of this video I travelled up yo Rickmansworth this morning and took the beautiful Chess Valley walking trail up to Chesham, which is wonderfully peaceful. Thank you Geoff, I think that makes you an influencer now?

  3. Hmm I had estimated you being younger, but now we know… Great video, very nice station, although only 1 track, and 1 platform, all this features! Only a shame you also started sponsored videos. 😞 But I guess that is inevitable these days…

  4. My favourite End of the Line video yet. I love Chesham, the place and the station. It has so much character and that old worldly feel with the station features. Also beautiful countryside on the branch line from Chalfont & Latimer and around Chesham itself. Another great video Geoff. 🙂

  5. Can anyone help me please? I have a YouTube Premium subscription which is meant to have no advertisements, but there was an advertisement for a VPN part way through this video. Did anyone else have the same problem?

  6. Another superb “End of the Line “ Series Geoff .. and the second one in my home county of Buckinghamshire. For your things to do in Chesham .. The Amersham & District Motorbus Society has an annual Classic Bus Running Day on 1st Sunday in October .. based at Chesham Broadway .. you can catch (for free!) beautifully restored 1950’s/60’s/70’s former London Transport Country Area (& London Country examples too) on routes out into the beautiful Chiltern Hills Countryside just when all the leaves are turning gold, red & brown .. they operate from 10am to 4pm .. a timetable & programme is produced .. funds from which help pay for the fuel of the RT’s; RF’s; GS; RML’s etc that provide the services.

  7. Good to see you in my area again. Regarding the Signal Box, I was at Chorleywood today and there was a poster saying there's plans to build a working model railway of Chorleywood Station in the old Signal Box. I'm looking forward to seeing that up and running.

  8. The planes you can hear are on approach to Heathrow, probably looping round from the east to land on runway 09 Left….. Interesting fact about no Starter signal here, Ongar also worked with the 'one train in steam' principle, either from Epping, or North Weald (when the box was still open there) but Ongar had a Starter…… I wonder if Aldwych had one or was also worked from the timetable only?…..

  9. I went to school in Chesham. Took many trips to and fro on the shuttle service and occassionally having to leg it through the underpass to make my Chiltern Railways Connection. The new integrated met line service is definitely better for getting into London there used to be a fair wait for a main met line train.

  10. Excellent video and a great series, Geoff! I'll need to find my way to Chesham at some point in the future.

Thanks for continuing to subtitle your videos! On this one, the subtitles get stuck for about ninety seconds starting at 3:35 on the subtitle about the station building being lovely (which should start around 4:58)

  11. What a lovely video. In particular it was great to hear your memories of visitibg as a child. Chesham will always have a special place in my heart as it was of course where we finished our Walk the Tube challenge together!

  12. I think Stanmore should be the next station on the series! My local station when I was younger and lots of memories of watching the jubilee line come and go from the end of my grandmas garden
