Empyrion Galactic Survival – Creation Updates 8-30-2022

In this video I show some work done to an imperial base and combat CV. I had some delays so not as much as I hope to have completed by now but still some progress, I talk about the plans for both project creations shown in the video.

  1. Textures are a huge deal with this game. The fact that blocks aren't just universal is a major mistake. All blocks should just be blocks and then have properties that you can change. You start with the block, pick a shape, pick a property, and then the texture is applied to every block…universally…sure this would make the game not backwards compatible…but really…isn't that the way it is now? You can't use blueprints from Alpha 8…they just don't work right.

  2. Maby its an idea to make a landing pad from solar pannels?..on your base? also armored concrete looks really good on bases ..specially if your looking for empire look..plus its super strong

  3. Solar on that emperial station meant for a Star Wars aesthetic would only work on the inside I think, and then covered up with even more walls, increasing the size of the structure. It would have to be designed in early. I imagine that's not something you really wanted to do on this one and I don't blame you at all.

  4. Imperial base solar solution: don't the solar panels work underground still? This would allow you to hold to the appearance you want while providing the utility. If the cheese factor provides too distasteful, you might just have to accept that there is no solar on this base unless the builder wants to add a little solar field.

Build it out of steel. I usually have loads of extra iron from various tasks in the game, the faction looks steel, just make it so. Have you ever had a shortage of iron after level 12 or so?

    Thanks Jeff!

  5. Jeff, you wouldn't believe how easy it is to merge all the textures for all the material types. The player can mod this for themselves in the files, before breakfast. You might ask Ravien or Vermillion if they wouldn't like to standardize doing so.
Yeah, it would alter existing workshop build appearances, but honestly Reforged Eden is at a critical junction point, with all the new devices, that the line between vanilla and RE is sharper than ever. Taking the texture plunge and forcing every new Reforged build to be incompatible, well that's just inevitable, anyway.

  6. Love that base design! Never seen shaping like that before. Separate solar towers connected to the base make sense. Agreed: different texturing on concrete/steel is annoying. Nice work on your creations, and thank you for sharing.

  7. I would skip the solar panels for the base and focus on making it look good and believable. There are always issues with solar panels on pre-built bases anyway, they don't align correctly and that kind of stuff. The panels are always best to place out after the base has been built and placed. That way you can as a player align them correctly in order get some efficiency out of them. Also, you don't want them to be in the way when the base attacks occurs.

  8. I'm surprised that nobody has used blast doors on combat ship bridges yet. I had the idea for a while but I stopped playing. I'd hate the idea to go to waste so I'm throwing spaghetti on the wall to see if it sticks.
