Would it affect my build if I'm a confessor and don't use magic ?
I dont think going around killing important npc is a good advice, this game is so complex and deep you might missed important quests or story later on.

You're welcome ladies and gentlemen. This is how you do it if you can't kill him before he goes to the roundtable.
What I did (has some minor boss name spoilers): Talk to D on the road by Summonwater Village and get him to go to Roundtable Hold. Go back to Roundtable Hold and talk to him. Get some Deathroot from the Tibia Mariner or the Black Knife Assassin and give it to the NPC inside the Bestial Sanctum in Caelid (you can sneak behind the boss in front of the door if you want). Go back to Roundtable Hold and talk to D again. Hug Fia and listen to her secret. Then get to the Altus Plateau via the Great Lift of Dectus (have to find the two keys to operate it) or up through the ravine village next to it. Find a couple of sites of grace on the Plateau. Go back to Roundtable Hold and talk to Fia to get the dagger, give D the dagger, teleport in and out, and then get the armor."

Also just wanna let you know theres actually even much better armor you can get early in the game too I know exactly where but only issue is it's so god damn heavy

I’m starting to think you’re actually supposed to kill some of these npcs to get their armor. I did the same with the battle master who teaches you sword skills and got the beast armor and his bell. I gave the bell to the husk twin lady’s at the round table and they offered me everything he did.

does armor matter depending on what class you are or every class can wear every armor ?

If you have a friend make a new character kill him drop it to your friend then get him to drop it to you that's what I did

it is more advised to complete their quest lines get their items before you kill any NPC.. right before crossing to NG+ is best time

I accidentally hit Alexander the pot dude in a cave and he got pissed after one hit and I had to kill him and a quest my cousins had for him I don’t have where they had to kill 2 bosses at a castle and I don’t have that but in the same castle I take a lift down to the beach and there’s a portal that puts me in the Radahn boss fight which is a main boss
