I tried giving him the first key, you actually can`t, he refuses to take it.
God damn dude I swear every NPC dies in the game, i was gutted to find out that thops dies seemed like a chill dude. He kind of reminded me of luarentius from dark souls 1.
FYI, he will not take the key from you unless you find the 2nd one, as I tried to give him mine when I was done with the academy and he refused. Fromsoft clearly thought of how people might mess up their game 🙂
