  1. Impressive video, but there are two things that are partially incorrect or at least confusing in the beginning: Elden Ring's PvP is known to the public and Dark Souls II's influence on Elden Ring notable. (Detailed explanation below.)

    PvP
    – The whole network test was about testing servers for PvP and coop gameplay.

    – There are dozens of videos from the network test and "jail broken" Playstation 4 gameplay explaining of Elden Ring's PvP.

    – It works by using "fingers" and "summon signs" to the multiplayer modes. Not very different than it was in DS 2 and 3.

Dark Souls II and Elden Ring
    – Dark Souls II introduced working fast travel points from the start (bonfires). Elden Ring has fast travel from the start (sights of grace).

    – Dark Souls II is the only Dark Souls game with actual dual wielding, called "power stancing". Elden Ring has power stancing. Dark Souls III had three or four special "twin weapons" with some dual moves, but no power stancing. In Dark Souls II can dual wield whatever you want and in Elden Ring you can dual wield certain weapon classes (swords with swords, daggers with daggers, great swords with great swords).

    – Most importantly: While Dark Souls I is almost linear and Dark Souls III is completely linear, Dark Souls II has several paths to choose from the start and all other paths can be unlocked in 3 hours of gameplay if you buy the right key items (Ring that reduces fall damage allows for exploring the pit area, a stone that heals petrification removes a petrified woman and allows to explore woods, saving 20000 souls opens a third path etc.) If Elden Ring took inspiration from Dark Souls I and III it would be linear, not an open world game with multiple paths and endings. ;D

  2. Ok, so I just came here to watch "The Ultimate Preview to Elden Ring" (as the video title says). But you managed to kinda ruin the video for me just under a minute with that "He he, Dark Souls II Bad Eggs Dee" "joke" of yours.

Yeah, I may sound a bit bitter right now and while I saw your response that "some people are taking a joke too seriously". Well, like me, many others just expected normal preview on Elden Ring without this unnecessary DS2 Shade throw. People who like DS2 have to take on with "jokes" like this all the time and can be really fed up with them. Even in DS2 fan communities, there are always people that have the need to just come in and be like "Hey guys, you know the game you like sucks?" (It would be accurate with more colourful words, but I don't want to get into the offensive stuff here).

Anyways, while I do respect the opinion that not everyone has to like all the games and I think adding some jokes to entertain the audience during a preview video is a good thing, your DS2 "joke" didn't really felt like a joke at all. It was more like a slap to the face to anyone who really enjoys and cares about the game hoping to see the good features from this game coming to the Elden Ring. The jokes in the video shouldn't be written in a way to put someone else down just to get some "he he" laughs from people who share your point of view on the game.

Also again, I do respect your opinion, but shoving it up to our throats in video talking about different way felt like a bad move as well, we came to watch video about Elden Ring, not some "Souls Ranking" or "Why [Insert Game Name] Sucks". I know mention of the other Fromsoft games while talking about Elden Ring is usually a needed addition and I know the fact that some people just cannot have "praise" and "DS2" in once sentence without their stomach turning, but this could've been all avoided by saying something like "Dark Souls Trilogy" or just "Dark Souls Games" when it came to praising the games. (Yes, you'd loose that "excelent joke", but so far as I watched people's reaction to it in the comments, that would've been for the better)

So with this I hope if you make another video script talking about Fromsoft games, you'll be more mindful of other people and avoid these sour "jokes" that exists only to put someone else down.
    Thank you,
-Your average Dark Souls II Enjoyer

  3. I'm finally getting into Dark Souls after owning the trilogy for years. I'm about halfway through DS1 and I keep hearing nothing but hate for DS2. I'm really getting nervous about having to play it next lol

  4. does class even matter on a DS game? lmao, if classes can only use a certain attack set then maybe they can be called unique classes, but everyone else can do it if you grind enough .. those "classes" are just presets of stats… really hated that

  5. This game gives me Breath Of The Wild vibes.
That game was very good at opening the world up to the player, and giving so much freedom that it was always rewarding to play. This feels similar but on a different level. With the rpg aspects of Dark Souls, and open world of Zelda. This game will be legendary.

  6. I may be looking at the wrong game for this, but with everything being so cool here, I can't grasp the fact that with such a huge open world it seems there will be no civilization (e.g. inhabited cities, villages, etc.).
I've never played Souls series, so I guess maybe that's why it's so odd to me.
But the rest looks so good, I am itching to try it.
