  1. Agreed with your level argument. Ive only played Mortal Shell (mostly mmo player) and now im too overleveled for my area. 100% still loving this game tho

  2. My only question is how to get the materials (smiting stones) to upgrade all those weapons to +8?

Funny how i am exactly the same level just by instinct. Currently invading about 70% of the time i have on this game. Having a blast not in a rush to finish the game! 😎

  3. Why no great rune equiped ? I got only one so far ( from Godrick ) but when i blessed it at top of that tower and equiped it i got +3 on my vigor/endurance/strength and dexterity… when i use rune arc stats go even higher. Ok rune arc effect is gone when i die but those +3 buffs stay as long as rune is equiped.
That seems good stat boost or is there something i am missing ?

Also my stats are all over the place, because i want to be able to explore as much from the game as i can with one character, will have to do another one when i finish the game 😀 ..but i should invest in vigor more…it is very very low.
I tried some pvp thou, had some sucsess and more defeats… 😀

  4. Hi G9! Why exactly 39 dex not 40? Known softcap for dex was 40 so just curious about it. Next thing I'd like to speak about is bh step, are you convinced right now it is better than some high burst/aoe ashes like bloody slash or frozen stomp? I'm not watching any other videos besides u to still being able to experience most things in 1st time by myself but knowing ur videos format and ur knowledge about reading the game I really would like to know ur opinion about current pvp state even if it is at the total begining. Cheers!

  5. Fun fact: if you have any buff on a weapon that adds a dmg type, it'll show you the amount of dmg in the equipment screen but doesn't show any auxiliary effects added (if any)

  6. Ah, just so you know, if you put your overleveled weapons in the chest, they won't affect matchmaking. So you really didn't need to upgrade all your weapons to +8. just putting that rapier in the storage would be enough.

  7. I chose prisoner as my starting class. Some tips I can give for this is to focus on levelling dex and vigor first, and then upgrade strength to 16-18 because there are some early dex weapons that require that much strength. I'm using weapons like the Great Épée, the flail, Roger's Rapier, and the Guardian's Swordspear. After focusing those stats, start levelling int to take better advantage of sorceries (notably scholar's armament, like G9 is using) and to get good scaling from magic weapon arts like Carian Greatsword. Quickstep is another good weapon art to use because you can use to it scale weapons better with dex. I'd say don't worry much about endurance or mind until later. I'm about lvl 40 and haven't touched those stats.

  8. Good stuff. My approach has been a bit different – I leveled vigor almost exclusively in the early going. Stamina seems similar to Bloodborne – a little goes a long way.

The damage-oriented stats (STR/DEX especially) do not seem to have a big impact on AR, at least at lower levels. So, similar to Jee's approach, I only level these stats as much as is needed to hit the minimum to wield a particular set of weapons.

That said, if you're in love with strength weapons then it makes sense to go to 26. However, the way vigor upgrades work is that not only is there not a softcap at 27, but the returns to vigor upgrades actually increase as you go higher – apparently, all the way to 40, which is the softcap (I myself have not yet hit 40 so I can't say 100% this is true).

So just like DS 3, it seems the best early strategy is to level the hell out of vigor, and throw a few points in other stats to hit minimums. That said, following a strategy like this minimizes the amount of weapons you can experiment with.

  9. I hear 40 is the soft cap, and 60 is the hard cap, but my source may be wrong. I also hear some spells have insane requirements, and same with a few weapons, and I hear the soft caps may be a bit higher. Do you see meta being higher level from this?

  10. I cant wait to see which areas the players choose to be like the main battle ground for 2v2s and whatnot.

Ds3 had Pontiffs, i hope in ER its in the capital or somewhere awesome

  11. I don't think weapon level effect matchmaking , since Rogier's Rapier is +8, Patches Spear is +7, Irina Halberd +8 and you get them very early on if you kill any of them. I think you just scale to the host's. Since I noticed my +2 Reduvia was a lot higher stat when I was invading people.
