  1. im loving it, maybe 15 hours into it and i feel like i've barley scratched the surface compared to dark souls 1-3. Honestly the open world was my biggest fear but so far they pull it off very well, it doesnt feel like a 'modern open world game' imo.
BUT I hope fromsoft does NOT abandon traditional more linear – high detail souls style games in the future though. Very different map vibes from dark souls more cramped and immersive worlds imo

  2. The game looks soo bad on my PS5 out of all next gen standards and expectations, Demons Souls for PS5 is far better looking, can't stand Elden Ring's look especially buildings and it's repetitive textures and proportions as person from art school trained for viewing cant look at it 5-6 minutes, start it and must turn off that ugliest popular game I'm feeling CHEATED by uneducated YouTubers and reviewers which do not respect 2022 standards and our free time

  3. This game is desperate for VRR support on the PS5.
So much so, I’m considering buying it again for the Series X.
It’s also desperate for a manual camera.
But I agree, the world is awesome to explore

  4. Although there is pop up in the game and it doesn't upset me much, I am more upset that reviewers mark down other games for "pop-up" but don't talk about it here and give it a perfect score when the pop- up here is much more apparent than normal.

  5. Elden Ring is excellent.

I come from thousands of hours played on mostly Dark Souls 2 & 3, but I have beaten Dark Souls 1 a few times. I played through Bloodborne three times and Sekiro twice. I was playing Nioh in anticipation for ER release.

Now it is here, and I am loving it. I have limited time due to school, but I am squeezing an hour or two/day for exploration and dying, haha.

  6. New to Dark Souls style genre, I spent about 3 hours dying last night, not knowing where to go, meeting creepy NPCs and running away from forbidding enemies. Loved every second of it!

  7. I love doing as much as I can until it comes to challenges. I’ll do as many as I can but if I gotta try a hundred times to do things a certain way in a certain amount of time then I will move on. Exploration, story, bosses and enemies are where I’ll spend my precious time 😆

  8. You described perfectly what I was feeling in the beginning of this game. Hesitant to do anything because of how large, daunting, and brutal this world is. I’m about 10 hours in or so and it’s one of the most rewarding games I’ve ever played so far. The fact that I’ve only explored the first area of the map is insane and I can’t wait to dive deeper into this masterpiece.

  9. I have never felt more anxious towards playing a game in my life. I've logged around 13 hours and I find myself just looking around for info about the world and just reading item descriptions for lore or watching other people play in the early game. I've never felt such a strong sense of freedom and exploration in any game ever it's almost intimidating.

  10. It's definitely the best Souls game I've played, but I can't say I'm "in awe" like so many others. It's a really fun game, but, at the same time it kinda just feels like Dark Souls, again. But open world.

  11. I really have tried to like the souls games, but dying over, and over, and over, and over, and having to spend hours playing the same areas and kill the same enemies over and over and over, well for me that is super annoying, it’s not fun, it’s frustrating.
