I’m gonna get dogpiled for this but I’m a little Elden Ring’d out. I understand it’s a generational accomplishment and I’m glad it turned out so amazing, but damn it’s literally everywhere I look. Social media, YouTube, Twitch, Reddit, it’s all anyone talks about.
I could use a little break from it, just personally.

I mean Im not that surprised. Elden Ring was bound to kill it hard in sales. And the only reason that the top 4 games are open world games is because 4 out of 5 games released these days are open world games.

I wonder how many people regret buying Elden Ring and just bought it based on hype and critical reception, I guess we will find out based on where it charts in March vs a game like Horizon.
Could have used a bit more time talking about Total War and how well its done for a niche title that's PC only, on gamepass, but still number 2 on steam. There's other news outside of Elden Ring that deserves to be talked about.

Can we just cool it with the misleading narratives in the thumbnail? Elden Ring and Pokémon Legends are aimed at different audiences, so the sales figures don’t really mean what people think they mean.
But wait…didn’t Elden Ring need an easy mode to do well? Also I love Ikumi Nakamura announcing this right when Ghostwire Tokyo is about to drop. That lady is awesome, and I’m hoping Ghostwire Tokyo has some of her vision still. Although I’m sure if it did then she might not have left mid development. Tango is talented enough and Mikami is a legend so I’ll still give the game a shot still.
I’ve been milling around with DS3 this week. Until Elden Ring finds itself on GamePass, there’s no way I’ll buy it anytime soon. I can’t justify paying $60 to frustrate myself for days on end.
I'm really surprised that Elden Ring debuted bigger than Pokémon.
It's worth noting that Pokemon doesn't include digital sales so if the charts did Pokemon probably would be higher

20:00 Firstly, Miyazaki (main creator of Dark Souls, Bloodborne, etc.) has stated previously that he dislikes sequels. The only reason he made Dark Souls 3, I feel, is because a different FromSoft team made Dark Souls 2 that was very 50/50 critically. It's the reason why the team has moved away from sequels and has focused on new IP.
Secondly, there was previously a rumor that FromSoft's next game is going to be an Armored Core game, which has screenshots attributed to it. Of course it's a leak, could be wrong or outdated, but it is of note!

This elden hype gotta stop. First of all its dual platform so it will sell more to start with but when all is said and done it won't sell more than horizon. Also horizon is 70 and elden ring is 50 so big difference in price to. Elden ring us a hype job !
