I love this moment always and the acting of Masakazu Morita and Takayuki Sugo, it was really good… But sadly if you are an anime viewer, i think the problem of shook value and focusing on showy stuff really hurt this moment, i truly feel it for an anime viewer, but because i remember the experience of reading the manga chapters as they were coming out in Nimaiya's Palace and breaking my brain about what was the true relationship between user and Zanpakutou, or if my crazy theory, that came to me after we first saw Yhwach, at the time of White being Ichigo's true Zanpakutou (I still can believe one of my crazy theories turn out to be right, but i think this speaks more of Kubo's mastery with his foreshadowing, because i re-read all the chapters with White more times then i can count analyzing his actitud in it in this time between each chapter, where the theory was gaining more strength in my head). And all the clues that Kubo keep giving us about all of this stuff, and it was an amazing time (If you ignore the toxic part of the anime community throwing us not very nice words, which i did) to be a Bleach fan, and i feel not a lot of anime fans got this, because you didn't get the chance to hear why the Zanpakutou are angry, you didn't heard Nimaiya complain about how certain ways to see the Zanpakutou are just wrong. You didn't got any of that… And as a fan i feel sad, because it was one of the best moments for multiple chapters in the manga in my opinion.

  16. Beautifully done.. I was never emotional reading or watching the old bleach anime. For you this moment showed a beauty better then the manga . For me it was the Unohana vs Kenpachi fight. Both beautiful moments the anime handled extremely well…

    Also hearing Number 1 play was a cherry on top

Kubo was always so misterious and secretive with all these plot points so the audience knows as much as Ichigo about his past, this is why EBTR and "The blade is me" are so important, and Ichigo finally accepting his origins and forgiving his regrets is one of the best character development i've seen

  25. I didn’t like the pink. Didn’t work for me. Could’ve made it blue instead of pink, would’ve looked like the old anime and still do what the scene did.

    Also Number One remix playing as Ichigo was reaching for the blade was just dumb. It’s like having a death metal song in a funeral.

    Also the credit lines were so annoying.

  32. I think my favorite part of this moment is what it says about real life. With ichigo accepting white as well as old man zangetsu, the story tells you that in order to create balance within yourself, you must learn to accept who you are, including your shadow self. Most media and especially songs often speak of “defeating the demon within” in some regard, but bleach instead tells you to harmonize and become one with it, because that demon is you. That is why I love this moment so much.
