My final review for FromSoftware’s “Elden Ring” (PS5 Version)

I received a copy of this game for free from Sony. Despite this – I have provided what I feel are my true and honest opinions of the product in its current state.

This review was created in a way that is intended to avoid any spoilers, and therefore will purposely avoid showing enemies and weapons that are made available in the later half of the game.

  1. Pc is a disaster atm i love the game but man 40 to 60 fps with stutters and hitches and even drops as low as 20fps on a Ryzen 2600x 1660ti 16gb3400mhz rig the game does not look like valhalla or dying light 2 so i am not sure why its running so poorly but man its a frustrating experience. I hope it is fixed soon otherwise this is my second favourite from soft game bloodbourne being my favourite.

  2. I really look forward to when they fix the majority of the stuttering and performance issue. It really ruined boss fights and exploring the world in general, so therefore I refunded it.

  3. That Knight armour in the thumbnail is what I’m rocking, it’s beautiful

Absolutely loving this. My ONLY gripe is the chugging and stuttering which I’m sure (hoping) they’ll patch asap

When that’s done, it’s as close to perfect as a game will get imo

  5. For being my first soul game I do like it. Artistically the game world is very unique and intriguing to explore, it's quite refreshing not having point markers over the map. But performance wise and graphically it's not the best to be honest. I do find the game a bit old school in some way, I don't find it to be negative but definitely different from what I have played before. But overall my experience has been good for the most part. I have only 9 hours with the game so I might change my opinion later on.

  6. Sekiro's movement system (witouth the grapple and at a reduced speed) would have been so much better, it wass soo fluid, i hope soon mods are created for this
edit: also someone has to turn sites of grace into bondifres, they just look cooler with the sword

  7. I agree with most of your review, but I don’t know. I just don’t see the issues you were having with the presentation. The lighting looks amazing in my game. The only issue I’ve had is pop-in and maybe some jagged shadows. Nothing near what you’re describing.

  8. I play this in 8k max settings with zero performance issues i have 3090 fe. Im not sure why everyone is having problems maybe its the latest drivers which is why I rarely update drivers. Only issue with the game is that i have a glitch where the enemies or my horse become invisible as if it was simulating camera fade

  9. I feel you when you say Elden ring isn’t a masterpiece.. however upon thinking about it, what is the criteria for a masterpiece? I’ve come back around on it and now I do believe it is a masterpiece.

  10. If a masterpiece is a game without flaws than there is no masterpiece in therm of games.

But in my sincere opinion I see the flaws of this game but its still geniualy one of the best game I ever played. I've played 55 hours in my 4 days week end for this game. The world is so full of mystery / well design zones and well design secret zones. Am a huge fan of the fighting style in the souls game and its just ds3 with more. The pvp and co-op is still something we've never seen in any other games. The bosses are just epic.

Like I dont mind the small issue and to be honest I would give a 10/10 to this game. If I have to take the flaws of fps drops , bad performance on PC and some repetitive open world locations , the game is still a 9.8/10 for me.

  11. Nick930 : I confess to Elden Rings uniqueness of the monsters….but that's about it. This game would be a masterpiece if released in 2013….because the game engine looks, feels and plays as a game from 2011-2013. Assassins Creed Syndicate looks much much better and it was released in 2015 already.
