  1. I was camping by a creek above Aspen, CO, in the summer of 1970. A drug dealer mixed mescaline (made from the peyote cactus) into the spaghetti. I quite liked it, because I saw a cross fade, the reality and the hallucination at the same time. But I didn't like LSD or psilocybin, because I didn't know what was real and what wasn't. (I later ran into the guy hitching in the same car south of Frisco. "What are you into?", asked the driver. "I'm in the drug business,, he replied.)

  2. I'm a working musician doing covers mainly, and I've been getting frustrated with how formulaic a lot of music is right now.
Even just checked out some "alternative" bands like Ghost and Lorna Shore, and they just feel so bland and formulaic.

While I don't think I particularly like this band / EP right now:
Holy fuck is it refreshing to hear something that isn't just cookie cutter / paint by numbers songwriting.

Every ten seconds or so, I'm hearing something that takes me by surprise, and goddamn, that's a nice change.

Definitely coming back to this one to give it a proper listen.
