  1. We get weeds because the ground is cursed? LOL. We get weeds because a) they grow faster and more efficiently then many other plants and b) we decide that these plants are weeds. Anything can be defined as a weed.

Every day I come home from work I just spend 15 mins or so plucking it out….little at a time eventually I'll get it all. I assume it's from me neighbor because there was a old 2 car garage there and I demoed it n started from fresh soil

  3. I’m 23, I’ve got just a few years of experience and I’m happy to find I’m treating my beds just like you are! Do you find that you get better results if you use surfactant in your backpack sprayer? Surfactant and prodiamine, plus some three way? That’s pretty plant safe during the spring, and during the winter a little roundup can be replaced with cleaning vinegar as an active ingredient that’s safer for the operator.

  4. Hey Pete. I created a 5-star Pete’s Score for your lawn mower review:

Pete's Score: Lawn Mower 5-Star Review Criteria

Pete's Score is a comprehensive 5-star rating system designed to evaluate lawn mowers based on key criteria that matter to users. When reviewing a lawn mower, consider the following factors to determine its Pete's Score:

    Efficiency:
A 5-star lawn mower should provide excellent cutting performance, allowing users to mow their lawns with minimal time and effort. Factors to consider include cutting width, mower speed, and the ability to handle various types of grass and terrain with ease.

    Eco-Friendliness:
A top-rated lawn mower should have a low environmental impact. Assess aspects such as fuel consumption, emissions, and the materials used in manufacturing the mower. For electric mowers, battery life and charging efficiency should also be evaluated.

    Durability and Build Quality:
A 5-star lawn mower should be built to last, featuring high-quality materials and sturdy construction. Examine the mower's components, such as blades, wheels, and the engine or motor, to determine their durability and longevity. The mower should withstand regular use and adverse weather conditions.

    Ease of Use and Maintenance:
A top-rated lawn mower should be user-friendly and easy to maintain. Consider factors such as maneuverability, ease of starting, and accessibility to key components for cleaning and maintenance. Additionally, a well-designed mower should include clear, easy-to-follow instructions and readily available replacement parts.

    Safety and Noise Levels:
Safety is crucial when operating a mower, and a 5-star lawn mower should have effective safety features, including blade guards, automatic shut-offs, and ergonomic design elements to reduce the risk of injury. Evaluate noise levels as well, with a top-rated mower producing as little noise as possible to minimize disturbance to users and neighbors.

By taking these criteria into account, reviewers can provide a thorough and valuable Pete's Score for lawn mowers, helping potential buyers make informed decisions about the best mower to meet their lawn care needs.

  5. Pete! I love that you're going to do this with the mowers…but I have ONE thing that I hope (I think you're probably thinking about it anyway) you do that NO OTHER youtube lawn guys ever do…and that's compare QUALITY of cut between models. Most of the "other guys" on youtube seem to think that doing a video where you mow the tallest, ugliest grass proves how great a mower is. But, as a professional GROUNDS MAINTENANCE guy for nearly 30 years I call BS! It's not about how tall the grass is, or how much punishment a mower can take….it's about how sweet the MAINTENANCE cut is! I am TIRED of wasting my time on videos like that, so I'm psyched to see yours because I don't think you'll do it like that. Can't wait!

  6. On our local (Long Island) Facebook lawn care group, people are constantly asking what weed is this and what can I spray it with. I usually just say “bad, pull it”. Now I know that’s not always a viable solution, maybe half the lawn is covered in whatever, but pulling weeds is a GREAT option!
