  2. I feel your pain (itch!) re: mosquito bites. I got started with bites in Montana (Glacier) and they continued in Canada (Waterton, Banff and Jasper area). They were biting when I got home (Oregon) too and they are usually not a problem here. I've had it! My hand swelled up from something that bit me through my bike glove. I've never had a reaction that bad before. Ottowa was gorgeous!

  4. Wish I could have helped you on your trek across the U. P. My daughter and grandson were in โ€œthe Sooโ€ when you were there. They lived there until a year ago. You always make the best of any adventure.

  5. Hey, I think it was a cool video! You guys make me happy every time I watch a new video. I think this maybe one of your coolest adventures yet. I love that you both are just letting life be your adventure and we get to go along. It is great! Canโ€™t wait for the next one, honestly!

  6. This was not boring! I enjoyed seeing the sights that you showed us. Ottawa looks like a beautiful city! I know absolutely nothing about it; you gave me a glimpse. Have a great ride!

  7. Amazing spontaneous trip with a lot of laughs. I really got ticked when Annette was struck funny about being out in a city park setting up a tent to sleep in at 65 years old. That's hilarious. I had a similar experience earlier this summer when I was out tent camping in the Sierra at my age. And the way you guys puzzled about what's needed to cross the border and how to use the train. How funny. Thanks for the fun ride.

  8. We just did the UP -> Ottawa drive 2 weeks ago, and wow, I totally sympathize with the exasperation and exhaustion you guys had doing it. We were feeling exactly the same way. It just seems to go on forever! This isn't news, but Canada is big!

  9. Do you have a video that tells more about your lives? Where did you meet? How long you've been together? Do you have children? How long have you been retired? What did you do for work? Where did you live before you hit the road full time? Would love to hear more about you both!

  11. I use to go to Grand Falls all time when I lived in Northern Maine. Tammyโ€™s Family homesteaded the St John River Valley mostly on the Canadian side. Over 200 years ago. We plan on being back there, and do the PEI trail in 3years when Tammy has a class reunion. Looking forward to your adventure.

  12. You sound like us, self doctors. I fell in Nicaragua. Told Don it was soft tissue damage, no broken bones. Next day Don told the college aged kids, no broken bones. They asked Don if he was a doctor. He said no, Iโ€™m an old man. Hahaha. Sorry about mosquito bites. I use triple bacteria ointment. You are traveling by the seat of your pants. Thatโ€™s the way we go. One day at a time. Enjoy.

  15. PEI is definitely on my list! Particularly, because I want to live out my Anne of Green Gables fantasy ๐Ÿ˜‚. I drove to Denali, AK this year and definitely hear ya on the long drives! Getting there is fine, but the drive back I kept saying, โ€œIโ€™m so far away stillโ€. If you happen to drive thru Chicago on the way back and want to crash let me know.

  17. Was amazing to meet and chat with Annette this evening while I was attending Under the Spire music festival in Kensington PEI. As they rolled into town on their bikes, wearing "da brim" cycling visor on their bike helmets, I was intrigued to find out details about their helmet garb so started a conversation. They are here to ride the Island bike trail as part of the Island walk (700 km) … Way to go girls!

  18. Even what you ladies consider the "boring" videos are a pleasure – part of the adventure, is the travels there – and sometimes the road just goes on and on and on and on! Appreciate the update and are so excited for this leg of the journey as well!

  19. Ladies, you all are a hoot! Loved the video highlighting the drive across the country. Now I see you have another video up so Iโ€™ll catch that soon. But wanted to tell you I also have very bad tick, mosquito and black fly allergies. My allergist said when I am having a bad reaction I am to take Benadryl, Zyrtec and can use Pepcid all at the same time as they work in different ways as histamine blockers. Zyrtec is only taken once a day and it doesnโ€™t make you as sleepy as Benadryl. (I donโ€™t know how you took 4 of the Benadryl) ๐Ÿ˜ณ Thanks for keeping us updated with all your travels!!

  20. Darn those mosquitoes. They wreak havoc on me, too. At Wally World , in the camping section, I found this stuff called โ€˜After Biteโ€™. It really stops the itching for me. It comes in a small, white tube with red lettering. Please let us know if the Listerine helps. Is it the mint flavor or original? Or does it not matter? It takes a village to defeat those insect pests. ๐Ÿ˜†

  21. You two have hiked thousands of miles up and down mountains, crossed rushing rivers, dealt with climbing over blowdowns, heat, cold, snow and rain, but sitting for hours in air conditioned comfort in a beautiful truck with cushy seats sounds harder than all that.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ. Too funny. ๐Ÿ˜†. But actually, I understand. ๐Ÿ‘
