  1. While Super Saiyan 3 provides a much greater power boost than Super Saiyan 2, it has a massive drawback in that it rapidly depletes your energy. Goku was actually powering up, but since SSJ3 depletes your energy so fast it’s impossible to power up while in the form.

  2. I like the kinda "twist" here that Super Saiyan 3 turns out to just not be viable with a (non-fused) living body, and Goku just had no idea cause he only ever used it while dead 🤔

Also yeah, TFS glossed over this real quick every time it came up, but Porunga originally could only bring back one person at a time, while Shen Long could always do multiple (the reason for this is likely just the different state of mind of their creators)

And obviously, after this was such an issue in the Namek arc, Moori (new Namekian Elder) decided to power up Porunga, which we established was possible to do in the Cell Saga, when Dende recreated Shen Long and upgraded him- obvs still convoluted, but all pre-established stuff, at least 😥

  3. Something you have to know about super Saiyan three and it’s been really poorly explained in this episode is that it just burns through Goku’s Ki pool. It’s safe to compare the effects of SS3 to the Keio Ken technique. Strength, speed, and overall power skyrockets but your body just burns up too fast and you can’t charge up to recover. Goku never had to go this hard in this form before so he’s just now learning it’s limitations. It’s one of the reason why super Saiyan three is used as a last resort in a lot of cases until a more effective form could be discovered.

  4. Shenron and Porunga are 2 different dragons. The Dragon Upgrades where also already established. The major differences used to be

    Shenron:
    – Grants 1 Wish
    – Can revive multiple people at a time
    – Can only revive each person once

    Porunga
    – Grants 3 Wishes
    – Can revive only 1 person at a time
    – Can revive people indefinitely

Then after Namek, during the Cell saga Dende became the Guardian of Earth and upgraded Shenron. He can now revive people no matter how often they've died. But to keep multi-revive they could only go towards 2 wishes instead of 3.

  5. "Maybe they want to bring everyone back to so they can team up and beat Buu" ; Teaming up to take on a bad guy? Come on dude that's Dragon Ball Z taboo. You should've know better by now 😂

  6. I love the split Majin Buu does. There is another character in the franchise that split himself in two, Kami, “Guardian of Earth” before Dende. The event was responsible for creating the villain in the original Dragonball series “Demon King Piccolo” father to the current Piccolo we know in Dragonball Z.

  7. Shen Long and Porunga are different Dragon with different limitations.
Before Dende, Shen Long could only grant one wish and couldn't revive people that already got wished back.
While Porunga before Moori could grant 3 wishes, revive people who was already wished back but couldn't revive more than one person in one single wish.

  8. The spirit bomb was originally only meant to destroy evil beings, Gohan was able to deflect it as he had no evil in his heart, and some believe partly why Vegeta survived the spirit bomb is because he was not purely evil, even back then, albeit a bad guy none the less. Evil Buu is a perfect target for such an attack as its split off into a literally pure evil being now.

  9. The truth is Super Saiyan 3's energy consumption is off the chart. His power is too much. It multiply base power by 400 so it must drain stamina as much too. Goku never trained Super Saiyan 3 as a living being, thats why he never had this problem.

  10. The people of Namek believed the same as Elder Kai: there is a natural order to life and death, so the revival of a person is a serious thing. You'd have to get permission from each of the village chiefs to have a wish granted (which is why there was one per village) in order to do so. After the attack by Freeza and the destruction of Namek, the Namekians decided that such a massive loss of life was a good reason to revive people en masse, so they adjusted the Dragon Balls to reflect this.

  11. What you said about Krillin (and of course, Vegeta) reminds me of that quote: "Men show love through sacrifice." A lot of us do that every day. I'm just glad when people recognize that because it seems like as more generations go by, that seems to be increasingly forgotten. Instead, it seems easier to hate than to relate.

  12. The dragon ball cannon wishing can be a little iffy. The original dragon ball only granted 1 wish and could bring people back to life if they did not die of natural cause. On top of that their body still have to be intact otherwise they would die instantly again. Finally they could only be brought back to life once, after that it was no good. There has always been a natural limiter on the wishes by cultural design. The namekien are closer to pure heart beings so they didn't believe in make the dragon ball too all powerful because was nothing that important they desired. Which brings up what makes Kami and Piccolo so unique. Kami had an evil side of him he didn't want to overcome naturally and instead created Piccolo. That is why Piccolo was born a villain that could always change but had to meet criteria of humanity to bring forth that change aka Gohan. After Kami/Piccolo die that forces them to go to namek. The namakien dragon balls are more powerful but have different limitations. They can bring anyone back anyone more than once but only 1 person at a time is the limitation. While Earth dragon balls can do many people but only bring them back once. The reason why they changed how it works is because Namakiens tend to let people stay dead unless its a really special occasion. While Earth people die all time from violence so made to allow more people at once but at cost only once. After Dende becomes new guardian he changes dragon balls to allow multiple people and multiple times be resurrected. As they explain in this episode the Namakiens changed how their dragon balls worked and is probably assumed because of Frieza incident. If some one like that showed up again they wanted to be prepared which is why they already collected them before hand. So more or less by the end they are the same. Though it might be implied Namakien dragon ball is more powerful now because never mention them having a limitation on bringing back people whose body was destroyed. Which in future episode (DBS) that limitation of destroyed body does come back into play with earths dragon ball.

  13. Each set of dragon balls had different weaknesses. Shenron at the start of the series could only grant one wish and couldn't grant the same wish twice. They were also tied to Kami and Piccolo's life force. They also couldn't ressurrect people who died of natural causes.

Porunga could grant three wishes, but could only ressurrect a single person at a time and were tied to Guru's life force.

When Dende took control of the Earth's Dragon Balls, he added the ability to grant a second wish. Mori gave Porunga the ability to ressurrect multiple people in case they had another Frieza situation on their hands.

  14. You two actually saw the dragon balls get upgraded before. In the Cell Saga when Goku brought back Dende to be the new Guardian, Dende upgraded Shenron to grant 3 wishes like Porunga. Even after being upgraded, the Dragon Balls still have limitations such as Shenron not being able to bring back those that died before. Depending on the creator, the dragon balls will vary in power.

  15. I like how some games are pretty accurate with SSJ3's stamina drain. When you transform into SSJ3 in those games, you can see your ki/energy bar depleting pretty fast and when it reaches zero you go back to base form. You're able to maintain the form by powering up(basically what you see Goku doing in the show) the downside is while you're powering up you're basically defenseless(just like Goku).

  16. Hi Definitely not Detective
What I love about the Buu capture that not only did we get a legendary battle with evil Kid Buu but we also got mager characters development for Vegeta and Hercule
My favorite moment in the Buu capture are the moments when you see fat Buu and Hercule and the puppy together as friends and I think that is the true heart of this chapter and I don't think people pay attention to that and it makes me very sad
Because yes Goku and his z warriors are the main hero that we are following
For this chapter it does feel more of a fat Buu Hercule and Vegeta story
But let me know how you guys feel about this do think I am right or wrong
