Hey, if the uranium slug turret had a wee monkey sat atop it, it's still on theme.
Would putting a sandbag deter the zombies from seeking out your mines? Or would that reduce the damage too much?
Mr Streamer, interesting thing I just noticed playing 1.4-I got a prisoner named Dennis with a childhood of "Monkey Child" (apparently got traded to monkeys as a kid), and an adult job of Streamer, with special notice of ape-related puns. So apparently you can sell of years of your life and sanity making youtube videos instead of just buying the name-in-game package.
Also, apparently the guys making the game have been watching recently? Do with that what you will.
You could try using a floor that has a slower moving speed beneath the ieds to prevent the ai from walking on it. (In the chain reaction design)
Have you considered not having a one block entrance to the base? The turrets will be blocked by it and waste a ton of ammo while also destroying that entrance every invasion

I think the monkey guardians struggled a little with the resurrected zombies, because it was dark at the time. Powerful as they are, night buff is pretty ridiculous too. Please light up the courtyard a little.

Monkey military or…. Gorilla Warfare
Suggestion for the next playthrough if you dont already have one picked out, a Sanguaphage start with the goal of becoming a psyker and mechinator. I had a thoroughly wacky randy random game going for the better part of 24 hours and it was quite the fun adventure.
Option for the fecal corridor: I'd assume barrels of raw potassium are quite explosive. Have a few IEDs at the top end, and line the sides with potassium barrels. Defenses made of pure, refined banana, ignited by exploding banana and fecal matter (Made from banana), in a corridor of adanana.

Your problem with the manure trap is that they keep triggering the secondary traps, so make it so only the very final trap is actually an IED, and then use something that is just generally explosive for everywhere else, chemfuel jugs or those potassium barrels could work
