My CDL school beat "no shifting on tracks" into our heads. The instructors pretty much repeated it every single day to the point of it being annoying, but I get why. We went out in groups of three, and one of the drivers shifted on the track, and could not get the truck back in gear. The instructor pretty much yanked that driver out of the seat, got the truck in gear, and took us to a lot to switch drivers. It was something I'll never forget; lucky there were no trains coming our way.
As for going downhill…momentum control is very important. The speed creep down those hills can get a driver in trouble in the blink of an eye. I've learned to respect physics even more once I started driving these beasts.
A cop can write you up for shifting on a R/R track. The law is aimed at assuring you go over the tracks rather than get stuck with a trans malfunction neutralized trans
lights turning off right as you unhook had to give you a moment of concern…. "I didn't see a low power line between the trailers!!!" "Who installed the switch in the pavement that I rolled over?!" "How in the heck am I going to explain this…??"
I really like the Bible verses you start your vidoes off with. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope you continue to get miles going into the new year. I was able to get just over 3,000 miles last week on the extra board. The freight just keeps coming but I do except things to start slowing down at Estes any day now.

You got a reverse camera in your pickup man that's why you don't use the bavk glass 🤣
That dock is easier than it looks, jackknife it in.

I watch my downhill speed and wish it could be faster
How do you get experience if you’re just starting out, any suggestions?
I was doing 92 downhill on I10 westbound heading to Kerville Texas 😎😂😂
