  1. Poor dog – he's so sad! And when she entered his room, he had his tail tucked firmly between his legs, even though he was happy to see her. Poor dog – maybe the people couldn't afford him anymore. But he's so obviously waiting for them to return.

  2. Working in a shelter you see the worst in people, and the best in people. I try not to judge people who do this to their animals, as we don't know their story. But to email and say don't call us, we don't want him was pouring salt in the wound and makes them look like just the embodiment of pure scum. I did actually start to cry when Rocky began singing. This poor beauty needs to know he is loved.

  3. This hurts my hearts very bad. I do not know how to describe it. The dog looks crushed! imagine telling someone you do not want them and leaving them when you love them so much? my hearttttt!!! ahhhh!

  4. I saw he didn't want to be the one to initiate contact, too scared. Has probably been heavily dominated.

I started getting jittery thinking "GIVE HIM CUDDLES, HE NEEDS CUDDLES". But it IS wise to be cautious.

  5. Another heartbreaking story. Thank you for sharing this. You, Jennifer and the entire team there are life savers. I pray that Casper finds a new forever home. I grew up with cats but through my daughters, I now am a proud dog-father. I will be forever grateful for bringing a dog's love into my life. Happy Holidays from Brooklyn, NY.

  6. It's horrible that the previous owner just drop him off with bbl reasoning, but it's better than what happens near me. A dozen or more dogs every year get dropped off in the woods near my house. About a month ago I found a Rottweiler wondering down the road on my home from hunting. She was such a sweetheart I decided to keep her after a week of posting on a few lost and found sites and asking around town if anyone lost a dog.

  7. I wouldnt have adopted my cat if they didnt get him out of his shell and stopped us stating that the description is wrong. He is so affectionate and confident now, goodness knows how he was when his disabled owner surrendered him…

  8. I am from South Africa. The problem of people throwing away their pets are all over. I lost the most beautifull and gentle dog I ever had to cancer a couple of months ago. I adopted her from a shelter. All of my dogs are rescues. Casper are so gentle and beautifull. He reminds me so much of Roxy's personality. He still has a lot of growing up to do. What a treasure
