  1. While I don’t personally feel any of the songs were bloated or too long. I am totally with you on the little seed of fear Grace Randolf planted that it was going to be too message heavy. Totally the wrong take, the movie did a phenomenal job handling the themes of wicked without making then more important than the story telling. Probably helps the original writer of the stage script Winnie Holzman adapted it for screen instead of a wanna be activist who knows nothing about Wicked.

  2. I watched it Wednesday at the early fan screening of the film, and I was entirely surprised. I had never watched the stage play or known any of the songs, but I’d love this 'Wicked' movie. One of my favorite things about movies or even TV shows is that if I don’t like the main characters, I don’t continue watching, but I love these main characters, Galinda, and Elphaba. The songs were great, and I was surprised by the action. The costuming was great, as were the set design, the building designs, and the CGI. I'm seeing this movie again on Tuesday. I give it a 9/10; it's my favorite movie of the year! It surpassed Deadpool.

  3. I'm glad to see that you appreciated it, I can't wait to see it too 😁
It will come out in France the 4th december so I have to wait 😭
I love Ariana and Cynthia, I love their voices. I think Ariana fits well to Glinda's role cause she always had this quirky, cute and a little bit selfish vibes.
Honestly I think it's going to do maybe some numbers near to Barbie's movie.

  4. I think the color grading was flat to mimic the look of the 1930 film. In that respect, I can appreciate what they're trying to do.
Thank you for saying that the editing was a bit odd. Like at the end of What Is This Feeling, they have so many scenes trying to wrap up the montage that it extends beyond the orchestral beats. If they had just stuck to that timing, lost one or two of those final scenes and stuck to the tempo, I'd have no criticism of it. Instead, they tried to cram too much in.
I disagree about Defying Gravity's extension as well. For the most part, it was fine, but the very final bit, where Elphaba is about to give her thesis statement for the next movie, they take a good minute to remind us of all the other (named) characters, and again killed the tempo of the song. This one, I don't see an easy solution, though. You do want to have the wrap up of everyone, especially to lead into the sequel, but where it was put felt clunky. And did we really need to hear Morrible's proclamation twice?
Maybe I'm making too much out of butchering the score, but the pacing is there for a reason, and had been refined before the Broadway debut.

  5. Wait, are you saying that people still want to go to the movies and spend their money for quality entertainment? Whaaaaat? Are you saying that people are willing to pay for movies with women in starring roles? Did Bob lie to me?

  6. Saying that you think Idina is the best when she is second or third at best
and then noting that you intentionally watch Grace Randolph videos, unfortunately it is kind of enough to invalidate this review.
