THIS group of amazing individuals all have one thing in common – they have all defied medical odds. At one point in their lives doctors thought they wouldn’t survive… But they did! These eight people have some of the most shocking and inspiring medical journeys out there, from Jonny whose body was 95% burned to Christopher who is currently the oldest person in the world living with his medical condition. However defying all these odds isn’t the end of their stories, as many have had a tough road to face surviving challenging medical conditions and emergencies, but that doesn’t mean they give up!

  3. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 18. Drs told me I would be blind & in wheelchair with feet amputated by 35 & wouldn’t see 40. I’m now 53. No amputations, full sight. Lots of health issues though. These people all have such positive mindsets. They are very brave & are true heroes.

  6. It’s people like this, who work through tough times and still find joy and share it with others that we should inspire to be like. Not celebrities, footballers etc ❤

  7. I'm so inspired. Unable to walk for the past 6 months, this video inspired me to DON'T give up and press forward. Thanks for sharing your story to help motivate and uplift others. You have no idea what you did just by sharing. I cried so hard bcuz what you guys have to overcome is so much more than what I'm going through. I got this boost of confidence to fight. I thank God for my blessings. God bless you all and your family and thanks for sharing I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU.

  8. I love how the first girl repeated what her father said about everyone having a disability & then mentioning trauma, mental health, & addiction, as well as invisible disabilities. I have CPTSD & mental health diagnoses, as well as a past of addiction, & these can very well be invisible disabilities in that sense. Especially for someone like me who hides things so well. What her father said is so true.

  9. I contracted bacterial meningitis when I was 14 in 1982. There was only one other case in my area on the military base. I was in the hospital for a couple weeks but ended up recovering. I never knew how lucky I was until the internet and learning about these other people and what they had happen like Kaitlyn. I do think it has effected me in other ways now I'm older. All these people are amazing, awesome and what is best (imho) is their kindness and I can do anything attitude! Thank you and you all being alive makes the world a better place.

  10. I am very, very proud of you ,all involved, thank you for not giving up parents as much as differently abled people. You are such an encouragement . I had only grant Mal epilepsy at a time when those people were locked away in institutions, but my parents didn't give in and just continued treating me like any other child. I went to school ( my fits were usually in the early mornings and not daily) if I wasn't to tired . They tried alternative medicine, something worked. During puberty it stopped until I was 19 and a different form developed, while at uni a neurologist watched that I had a fit during lectures and I was properly diagnosed and effectively treated, with very high doses of meds to keep it under controle. I was warned to have no children, but we had six healthy daughters. 2006 a miracle happened and I was totally healed. And never took the medication again, never had a fit again. IT's an extra long story, ask if you want to know.
But regardless where you are on your journey, never give up, we all have a purpose in life – my parents were told, I would never develop normal , lose my abilities to speak, etc , if than just have a very difficult, disabled life, mentally and intellectual ly very impaired. It did not happen, and even if, we are still lovable and worthy people. Be strong in your special life. You are all an amazing blessing!!❤

  11. All these people – including family and friends – are amazing. They deserve all the respect we can have for them. I don't know if I would be as positive as they are should I have any of these special needs. May you all continue to do well!
