  1. Ok, I feel like this Adelaide (Mia and Yuri's daughter), who should have never been born and only exists due to the actions of 10 Victorious, could be at the centre of a future episode.
I can see many storyline opportunities branching from that event.

  2. I often feel I'm the only person in the world who doesn't really love this episode – I found the whole "Time Lord Victorious" thing a little too "Emo" for my tastes (up there with his "I could have done so much more" speech) – but fair play to anyone who gets a thrill out of the episode. Each to their own, I guess.

  3. December 19 is my dad's birthday. Not seeing a connection. Oh well…
When I saw the title, I thought, "Bet there's more than that." I think I watched this one once. Suoer creeped me out.
Ice Warriors – chilling foes – Nice!
I really like these deep dives Good work, y'all.

  4. I know it's sacrilege, but I never much cared for The Waters of Mars. It just felt too much like a knock off of the zombie subgenre for me to see anything original or interesting within it. The "Time Lord Victorious" angle got me excited for the whole five seconds it lasted before being undercut. That would have been an interesting premise for the last two specials: The Doctor, corrupted by power, tired of losing people, taking their lives instead into his hands. How like the Master he had become! Having him slowly realize that, and slowly understand that it was time for him to go– that would have been a compelling arc. Instead, all we got was "I am the Time Lord Victorious!" BANG! "I've gone too far…!" sigh What could have been….

  5. Considering all the changes to production, story, cast etc. this is a standout episode in Doctor Who for me, it’s shocking how much could have been different but I’m so glad it isn’t. The Waters of Mars is a masterpiece that deserves all of the credit and respect. It’s what very few Doctor Who episodes can attest to being – a thrilling blockbuster style story. I’ve loved The Waters of Mars since it first aired!

  6. The hotel in "The God Complex" I know very well….why? Because I used to work there! The foyer, bar and stairs shots were all shot at The Seabank Hotel in Porthcawl. Considering I used to work there as a barman and a night porter, seeing the hotel in Doctor Who was a huge OMG moment for me. Oh…and Porthcawl can be seen in the background of shots from Bad Wolf Bay and those emotional moments with David Tennant and Billie Piper. Local knowledge 😉

  7. One of the best stories. This is how doctor who should be, dark and gritty as that's when in my own opinion is when the show is at it's best as you only have to look at the early Tom Baker years to see why that was the golden era. I just hope the show returns to stronger stories from this year

  8. When it comes to number 14, I'm glad they didn't scrap the best story in the specials (it's the only one that I really like, planet of the dead is fun, next doctor is alright and end of time has its moments, really it's just wilf, I normally skip the episodes and just watch a super cut of his scenes) and the cgi water creatures don't sound as cool as what we got, which had a more terrifying aspect to them of anyone could be infected at any moment by the smallest drop of water.

Also end of time 1&2 could probably have done with having their runtimes cut down from an hour to 45 minutes.

  9. Something that annoys me about this story despite it being one of my faves is the Captain repeatedly pleads with the Doctor to save them but he knows he can’t and tries so hard to resist but his instinctive need to save people takes over and he can’t help himself. It must be so hard to meet these people knowing they are going to die and knowing you can’t do anything about, then having them beg and guilt him into saving them & when he finally does they treat him like some sort of evil overlord, I know why saving them is wrong but she literally begged and begged him to do so.

  10. Sorry????? Do you eat Brussel sprouts for Christmas??? Is it an Irish custom or a British one? Either way, yech!!!
My grandma's Christmas pot-pourri was the most delicious food in the world, and the leftovers were good for Boxing Day cannelloni!

  11. Making the monster a parasite was actually brilliant. The monster you can't see is scarier than the one you can. Besides, the people who were transfirmed were pretty scary themselves.
