I remember watching this movie in cinemas but I do not remember a single detail. I think I was like 6 or something so it makes sense.

The few times they used aviation lingo, they had it right. Ok it's not an aviation documentary, but compared to so many bad military aviation movies ( Iron eagle, Air force one, even Top Gun!) It was enjoyable to see civilian aircraft in the spotlight. Yes movies about civilian aircrafts are rare. I'll take anything.

The "points system" in the race is used to determine what position you start in & with what delay in the next leg of the race.
You see this when Dusty starts in the last leg, he has the start dead last and with a large delay after the previous flyer to leave.
This movie is just pointless, the surprise villain is too predictable, its Mater version is somehow worse than Mater himself. The only upside i can see to this waste of time are Chupacabra and the Indian plane, these two characters are fine, but everyone else is just not memorable, not charming, they arent bad, but something worse, nothing.
But doesn't make me want to smash the remote into the TV to end the pain so 4/10

Where I'm from we for some got Rochelle recolored, speaking french and having a russian flag on her side. It's quite confusing and seeing her pink in this version is something new for me. I like it better.

This movie isn't terrible, but does have it's shortcomings.
For example physics.
Dusty's engine after the upgrade in Mexico must be very powerful and efficient to achieve that climb rate with props that small.
Also how fast was Ripslinger going and how fast was Dusty going if he outsped him by ~17 kts? To achieve that, Dusty would have had to push very high speed which the vertical fins he had would have had difficulty handling.

I mean, the P-38s having issues with high altitudes does have some real-life link to service ceilings, but how many kids are going to know what a service ceiling is?

The subtitles/closed captions seem to have been made before the final edit of the video because they don't line up at the start with the sponsor. Wonder if it'll be fixed.
Edit: Halfway through and now I can see that the subtitles de-synchronize every now and then.

I'm more worried about the concept of the living bombs that are MXY7 Ohka. Like, what if they're real in the Cars/Planes universe? Like, imagine being born for the sole purpose of suicide.
Okay I'm impressed they actually modelled semi-accurate triple-mount 25mm Type 96 AA guns on the ships that that fraud veteran guy fought against.
Up until today I knew so little about Planes that I didn't know it took place in the Cars universe
