  1. I think it would be great to show the good side of the people America goes to war with. We all seem to understand that with Iraq but suddenly forget when it comes to Russia. There are beautiful buildings & interesting histories, even if our governments are enemies.

  2. The segment about Thunder Mesa is interesting. As someone starting out in my field (architecture), I could easily sit around and say I am working on huge and visionary projects. When the reality is less grand. It’s a common theme in building development, especially mixed use. You sell big phases to investors, and in turn use that to drive public interest. It’s not seedy when the plans are fully realised, which does happen often. But to build an entire brand off of it, seedy. I grew up going to Disneyland a lot. I remember that some of my friends would fantasize about Thunder Mesa… and would beg our parents to take us because the “full” area was coming soon. Corporate gaslighting?

  3. I think the count for DCA it would have 1 being the original version of the Avengers E-Ticket we were supposed to get. ALSO the Mary Poppins ride over at Epcot!

  5. Why not try to build some of these now? Doesn't Disney have more money than ever and ride capacity issues hurting guest experience? It just seems like an obvious move for Disney to make in response to increased competition from Universal and claims that the parks are losing the magic. I guess they realized that it doesn't matter, because people will keep showing up to make for max park capacity anyway. I think they have mastered the fine corporate art of meeting bare minimums to keep audiences coming. That's not to discredit the few cool things they have added recently, at least they still do somethings worth noting.

  6. The government aside, Russian architecture is stunning and would have looked great in Epcot and now Disney owns Fox and therefore Anastasia they have the IP ready to make a ride!

  7. To be fair (to be faaaaair), it's probably for the best that Beastly Kingdom never happened. Disney doesn't have the best record with dragons. It probably would have burned to the ground by now.

  8. This video really shows how creative and ambitious Eisener was compared to Iger and Chapek. It's kinda sad that we're celebrating the return of a CEO who did the bare minimum to make the company good, instead of someone who pushed for innovation and creativity.

  9. I remember as a kid when there was an advertisement to Disney theme park back in 2000 to celebrate the new millennium: The California Adventure. Only to find out that it didn’t happen.
