  1. During the war, Germany have run into the issue of losing too many experienced pilots, weakening their air force. Which I guess what Veteran Air Instructors would counter, but the game does not really go into this, you just play a "who produces more planes" game, which is said. Add the fact that all these % stuff is quite hidden in the air battle screen (not like land battle, where you can see almost everything if you hover over numbers) and it just turns into a very simplistic thing, and confusing for new players

But hey, the plane designer is nice

  2. 0:30 the only nation in the entire game that had an air force academy at the start date of 1936 is Royal air force college cranwell. soviets get it in 1940s and even the damn us gets it in 1950s so its uındertstanable. considering the history of it air force is a specialty area that only appeared in last 30 years.

  3. wild guess but something tells me the XP penalty was not uppdated on the steel wings spirit because it requires the airwing to be uppdated.
be it waiting a few days or them getting some XP so the system can see that ohh this number is out of data let me fix it quickly.

  4. I'm mixed here: great video with useful topics, but in the end some testing by ourselves is still required. So maybe we didn't need a 27 min video? Don't get me wrong, you explain your thoughts process well, but in the end, I'm still looking for a (definitive) conclusion for each spirit
Your pick of Air crew survey and Centralized control is of course sound to start with, I would add that mid- to late game we might switch to Airborne heroes, become then you would have (lots of) aces and it's just great.

  5. finally! been waiting for this. come on guys, give more likes! we need navy too.

btw, one more thing about Independent Air Force is it also reduces the cost of air theorists of which rocket scientist is considered one (for those who wanna rush rocket and jet research). so potentially saving lot of PP at the cost of air exp which is more or less easy to get.

  6. What's even worse with air training on countries like france is the lack of fuel to begin with, and with how PD designed france to be basially a disarmed nation with massive debuffs no one country can compare to it feels really useless

  7. When you click on a technology if you hover over the research time at the top it will show you all of the modifiers that will apply to it and how many days it is saving.

  8. Veteran Air Instructors will keep having an impact at any time your wings are losing aircraft, not just when you're losing enough that the experience level of your air wings is dropping. In a stalemate-y war of attrittion in the air, your wings are going to keep gaining xp from their kills and missions while also losing some from getting planes shot down. VAI will reduce the latter and hence improve your overall rate of experience gain, regardless of wether it was positive or negative before adding the trait.

It's actually the opposite of your thinking about snowballing: The only time it does nothing is when the air war is already such a one-sided blowout that you're barely losing anything.

Continous strike I guess would work well when you design a fighter that has a rocket rail strapped to it and use those forCAS. The penalty for using a rocket rail is so small that it might be offset to the point where your fighter-bombers can now throw down with defending enemy fighters and still trade well enough.

On a sidenote, Germany starting with Erich Hartmann in 1936 is really damn stupid. He was 14 years old at that time, and about to become a glider aircraft instructor in the Hitler Youth. He only started trianing as a military pilot in 1940, and he went into combat the first time in October '42.

  9. I like discounted recruitment on exp costs but… man, it's the fryin pan into the fire : do you want to spend 35 army exp/50 air exp now to save 200 pp later, or do you want to spend 200 pp now to save up some already scarce as it is exp for your designs ? I dunno man, I feel like spending the pp now is better because pp is cheap and comes early but you get loads of exp specifically when don't need it anymore.

P.S : Intervention in Spain and China will earn you loads of air exp, true, but few nations can do it. In fact, most Democratic nations won't be able to do it.
